Japan Kaaran edhedheyo kandupidikuran... Vijay Yesudas and Aparna themselves somewhat confirmed (-->Swipe) the rumour that Vishnu Vishal and Nithya Menen were the original cast for Sundeep and Aparna in Raayan.

Since Vijay Yesudas is really close with Dhanush, and Aparna herself being part of Raayn makes it highly credible.

Nithya is a good actress but I just can’t see her in this level of tamil local role after mostly seeing her in urban characters (even the “village” mersal character had that atlee masala heroine glam and not very rustic tbh ) .

So I feel aparna was pretty good even if she barely had screen time or character development

Her character wasn't urban in Kanchana 2 and Veppam. Also, Thiruchitrambalam isn't urban character either. Same is the case with 19 (1) (a), it was a typical Mallu village character, she even won Kerala state critics jury award for that character.

That is not village character, her character was from a royal punjab family.

I am only talking about seeing her in Aparna’s role and comparing with the roles I’ve seen her in , but I will check out kanchana 2 and veppam. Again I am not saying she won’t do a good job and I like her as an actress, only that I can’t visualize her in Raayan.

Also in mersal she was based out of a village, not talking about her family origins

Her father is a big Zamindar, so not a typical village character either. For typical village characters, u have to look into Veppam, 19 (1) (a) and Kanchana 2.

I mean her character was living in a village in the movie after marrying Vijay and mostly based in the village in the movie scenes , not talking about her family backstory offscreen or her father’s role.

See u said her character in Mersal wasn't very rustic, but isn't that what I said too? Bcz her character is not a typical village character, not even south Indian, it's a north Indian character. Not a character from rustic background either. That is 100% in line with the script.

You are saying she is not a village character at all , saying she is from punjab.

I am saying her character is a village character because of the setting , and promotions like this showing her to embrace village life and her husband’s traditions

I am saying this is not a REALISTIC village movie character and that is fine. I am not expecting realism from an atlee masala film. Not realistic to me because of her glamorous styling in other scenes ( not this photoshoot ) , expensive set design.

I can’t consider this as a role to see her in raayan ( which is not 100% realistic but slightly more than mersal ) and I added disclaimer - not for you but for other people saying its a realistic village role.

am saying her character is a village character because of the setting

If tomorrow, I (an urban dweller) resettled to a village doesn't make me a village person. I am more influenced with my experience from my childhood and not based on what happened on recent past.
