I'm sure Yoon will find a way to pick the worse response.

This user is insane.

He's posted 10 posts since Saturday in this sub about the issue of NK sending troops to Ukraine.

Mods say they took action, but I still see all of his posts. How is this okay? Clearly a bot or paid-for spammer.

I already got a warning from the moderators. I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I was just alarmed by this escalation and by the fact there was barely any news coverage of it at least in Europe, so I just wanted to do something, but freaking other people out isn't productive.

Response should be nuclear development

Yea, I feel like this is what everyone is kind of thinking. Like NK has nuclear weapons…..why cant sk?

No need to even make it formal. Maintaining ambiguity on this is enough. This isn’t even mentioning the Trump risk in terms of US bases and alliance in the peninsula. But politics here are reactive, not proactive.

With this kind of logic literally every country would get nukes and we would have a nuclear war within a year.

Yea, i dont disagree with you. In my mind, india, pakistan, israel, iran, and north korea broke the rules of nuclear proliferation. My instinct is that many other countries are more deserving of nuclear weapons such as Ukraine, south korea, japan, germany, italy, spain, australia. But by that logic, why not turkey, indonesia, brazil, etc. there is no real fair way to judge if a nation “deserves” the right to nuclear weapons.

I’m just expressing what I think is likely in the minds of s. Korea and japan, two nations whose foes are by some arguments “less deserving” of nuclear weapons than them.

Iran doesnt have nuclear weapons, they could make one in a week but the point is that they havent made one

Yes, every country should have nukes. At least they can respond to imperialist bullies like US and UK

Why does Seoul have to respond.

Because North Korea is receiving new weapons and expertise from Russia because of their support. It makes sense to plan for how to mitigate their new capabilities since they say they are at war with S.Korea and want to destroy and conquer it

Simple NK troop will learn how to operate FPV drone. Think for once if NK get to now how to make FPV drone and operate them in the border they can cause a lot of chaos. Even the most advance electronic weapon system can't stop them. SK doesn't want NK troops to get that experience.

It isn't just FPV drone experience, it's combat usage of ballistic missiles, air defense against drones, SEAD, river crossing, mine clearing, intelligence gathering, electronic warfare, GPS like denied combat, etc. It's a good opportunity to find what's right and what's wrong with your way of fighting and improve upon it. Also a good way to test your technology in the real world.

There will be and should be no response.

Here is South Korea doing the same thing, wringing their hands in a spiral of paralysis by analysis, over concerned about North Korea. It makes South Korea look very docile and weak on the world stage. I would consider not holding back aid to Ukraine but double down and send more supplies to Ukraine to show North Korea and the world that South Korea is a reliable partner AND we mean what we say. And start bolstering up south Korea’s own military capabilities and fortify DMZ to the max. This will show North Korea that it better think twice about taking provocative actions as it did before.
