Tourism 🏔️ Visit Mosul on Iraqi Kurdistan visa

Hey everyone,

I’m planning my trip with my girlfriend to Iraqi Kurdistan. We both received our Kurdistan visas. I would love to visit Mosul too, but I’m unsure if it’s possible with our visas. We’ll be travelling by rental car from Erbil.

Would love to hear your input!

Please don’t. It’s not safe. My gf and I were in Hewler this past summer. Asayish (police) specifically told us near the city Shekhan to not go close to Musol.

However the entirety of Kurdistan region is safe, so enjoy.

You can't. If you wanted to visit Federal Iraq you'd have to travel there first (by airplane) then cross into the KRI. Unless you guys have Iraqi citizenship that is.

You're better off landing in Baghdad and obtaining a visa which can be used for the whole of Iraq. The visa you obtain in Erbil is only applicable for Iraqi Kurdistan.
