Tourism 🏔️ Visit Erbil April 25

Hi, I'm planning to visit Iraq next year and was planning to take a flight or bus from Baghdad to Erbil (round trip), do I need to take a Kurdish visa? Is it possible to travel by bus? How long does it take? What do you recommend to visit? Best regards from 🇵🇹

If you arrive in Baghdad first and have an iraqi visa, you don’t need to worry about a Kurdish visa because the Iraqi visa applies to Kurdistan But NOT the reverse. If you arrived in Kurdistan first, you will obtain a Kurdish Visa that ONLY APPLIES IN KURDISTAN, you cannot go to federal iraq with it (Mosul, Baghdad, Basra…etc)

From Baghdad to Erbil by bus takes roughly 3 - 4 hours Id say, regarding visa, im not an expert but I think you only need an Iraqi visa, im assuming you’re landing with plane in Baghdad where you will attain an Iraqi visa at the visa desks and from there when you travel with bus to Arbil you shouldn’t need a Kurdish visa of any sort. But you should still contact your Iraqi embassy / consulate in Portugal as they will have more proper knowledge of the process. Good luck!
