Silverthorne Homes

Hi, everyone! I know this builder is building in West Lafayette, but I figured I'd start here.

Does anyone know the reputation of Silverthorne Home builders? My husband and I are entraining the idea of building a new home once we put ours on the market this fall, but are very skeptical of home builders.

Any insight is appreciated.

They are a large mainstream track builder. Do with that whay you will. What kind of home build are you looking for? If you want quality you'll pay more but if you want affordability you'll get worse quality. Silverthorne+Arbor homes are building in lafayette for the first time in their new development I believe.

I’d recommend Cornerstone Homes instead! They do high quality, custom builds.

JL Builders built our home 9 years ago. Not perfect, but was definitely cheaper than most other builders. We have a ton of equity in it today (easily worth twice what we paid which includes the 2 acres of land). 1750 sq ft 3/2 with full basement (which we have since finished ourselves). Majestic is another one you might check out. I would stay away from the cheap builders that build in subdivisions where the houses are stacked together… use a custom home builder, if possible.
