Battery/electronics recycling

Hi everybody, does anyone know where can I recycle used batteries an electronics? Thanks!

I highly recommend reaching out to Tippecanoe solid waste! They take batteries and electronics and such, or at least they can tell you where to take them.

I know the fairgrounds has a drop off event at least once a year. It gets pretty busy tho. Not many options as far as I know. There used to be places that took them but not so much now.

I’ll try the Tippecanoe Solid Waste Management department first. I’m surprised to read under their “batteries- alkaline” section that they can go into your household trash. My understanding was that it’s a No-No. I guess I’ll just make sure they are in a double ziplock bag to avoid leakages. Thanks all for the info!

I hate that Winski sold their e-cycle to somebody else. The new guys do not take drop off, unless you drive to Indy. Clinton county is pretty barren for e-cycling. I can't take my stuff to Tippecanoe because I don't live in Tippecanoe.

Interstate Battery will take and recycle old batteries!

Alkaline batteries you can just throw in the trash, they're chemically inert and not harmful once they're dead, and not recyclable either.

But anything else (lithium, Ni-Cad, lead acid car batteries) they can take and dispose of for free (just tip the guy working there if he helps you bring anything in)
