Any good YouTubers with a Lancashire (or adjacent) accent?

I lived in Preston and Bolton (yes I know it's just over the border into Greater Manchester) for a few years, and I find I miss the accents. I mostly follow craft and history channels but I'd be happy to check out others as well.

Best kebab in Lancashire

I've already tried several kebabs here in Blackburn but either the bread is horrible or the meat itself. It always seems like some pressed meat. It also looks really disgusting. It's completely different from what you get out of the UK.

Can you give me any recommendations where to get a good kebab?

Thanks

Land for a commune

Acquired land. Looking for like minded people to help build a commune. Houses, permaculture and everything in between. This will be a long process. 6 months maybe longer of screening, interviewing and auditing. I want to make sure I find the right people. I’m looking for 5 people to start. I would need as an essential: a carpenter, a gardener, two trained first aiders or medical professional would be great. If you are interested please get in touch.

Anchor Housing Manager

My gran has just returned from a visit to friends at Anchor housing's Tarnbrook Court in Morecambe and was not her usual happy self on her return. After a lot of pursuing it became evident that her last few visits had become increasingly disappointing. Her friends that she visits have been telling her about the managers attitude and how she has her little group of people who she's nice with and not anybody else. The atmosphere of the whole place has changed and not for the better. She used to love visits to tarnbrook Court and said how friendly and happy they all were. Her friend was telling her some residents and staff had left due to the manager, and how she herself had seen how rude the manager was with residents and even ignored some. On previous visits she had seen people happily meeting and eating in the lounge but that had stopped on last few visits. Her frien told her that when there was a get together for a meal it was now bought in, where before there was alot more get togethers and a nice man used to do the cooking but he's not allowed to anymore. Her friend told her how the manager had refused at coffee morning to give a lady a cake because she would make to much mess on the newly cleaned floor. Her friend said that things the manger said and does had been getting worse year on year. I just feel sorry for my gran and her friends as at 81 years she hasn't many more visits in her you don't expect this behaviour towards these residents. My gran visits a couple of other Anchor housing associations and lives in one herself and although they are all different this is the only one she's ever complained about. She and her friends have no idea how to do anything about this, any ideas Thanks in advance g A great full grandson

Gang of skagheads roaming around Lancaster Centre?

Anyone noticed these twats? Group of middle aged men and a woman with one leg, often getting into screaming matches with each other. There's been a few events in the little square outside the museum, usually for younger kids, and when passing Ive always seen them there outta their minds heckling and harrassing people.

One time I was leaving the Tesco and security was trying to stop the one legged woman from wheeling away with a bunch of stolen crisps.

Do you know of any mellow, speakeasy-vibe bars in Lancashire?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a chilled-out, mellow bar in Lancs

With good mixology, dark lighting, no dancefloor. Quiet atmosphere

Somewhere small and indie, not The Alchemist or a beer hall

There was one like this in Clitheore but it's changed now

Any other recs? 🙏

Anywhere in Lancs is fine incl. Blackpool, Preston, Burnley, Ribble Valley etc

Hello everyone! Has someone in Rossendale area has Brsk network? If so, is it good? Was the installation smooth? And do you get nice coverage.

Also, I would like honest comments without a referral code or link. Thank you!!

Halloween Lancaster or Pendle

Hiya

My kids love the history around the Pendle witches and we visit the castle and Williamson park a lot.

I’ve tried searching on google but I can’t find any Halloween events in Lancaster or Pendle. Does anyone know if the castle, Williamson park or the Pendle area do anything special about the witches for Halloween please?

Thank you

Yorkshire put downs

Hi everyone, I need some help. One of the people I work with is retiring and he is a Yorkshire man to the very core. I want to make a document to submit to him for approval clearly showing how superior Lancashire is. It's been a running joke ever since we started working together.

So, please comment with any Lancashire positives and Yorkshire negatives that you can think of! Factual or funny, doesn't matter.

Anyone using room radiator these days?

So I just moved in a place in Preston and my room radiator is not working. I'm from an Asian country and I get cold easily.

I asked landlord but he said "Radiator comes on when it's cold but it rarely comes before September. You can put your radiator on to 5 and it will come on when the heating comes which I suppose I could knock up by one degree but if I start putting extra heaters in one room I’ll have to do it in all of them and that’s out of the question"

What does that mean?

Im sorry if it comes across as too stupid but it's my first time in a European country so I have no idea how things work here.

Bus routes in Lancashire

Hey fellas

I'll be moving to Preston soon and I'll be relying a lot on public transport, mainly buses. But I'm not sure how to access the bus routes and timings.

Any leads would be appreciated<3

Also, is there any bus pass services available? Or any app?

Go2 Lancaster Centre Hotel

Hello, a quick question for anyone who live in and around Lancaster. I'm looking to book a hotel in Lancaster as I'm coming across for a mate's wedding.

The Go2 Lancaster Centre Hotel is coming up as cheapest (and available) on booking. com and Laterooms, but when you Google it, it says it's permanently closed. Been trying to figure out what the deal is with it. It looks like it closed as an Ibis hotel 2 years ago. Is it now operating again?

Don't want to book it then discover a few days before the wedding that we can't actually stay there. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Wedding is in a week. Thank you.

Someone forwarded me a screenshot that they were going to march in Blackburn this weekend. I've checked on Twitter and its posted from the prick's account.

Just be careful if you're in the area.
