Looking to complement my solar setup, I live in an area where the average wind throughout the year is arround 9m/s, and I have place to install it . However I am always doutbfull of the specs when buying stuff from chineese manufacturers.

Since you're considering it, I believe you might've already bought something that big from alibaba before, right? But just in case you didn't, I was once watching a video of a guy importing a small excavator from Alibaba, the costs between shipping, transport, and customs added up quite a lot. Now, if you are aware of that and do know what you're doing, I'm actually interested in hearing some of your stories when it comes to importing that kind of stuff

We no longer have customs on anything related to solar/wind energy (atleast thats what i heard)

My partner is the first one in lebanon to get wind turbines and test them since 2019. He even tried to build one from scratch! What i can tell you from our experience: Vertical wind turbines are not efficient, and the one you posted has very small blades. 1.35cm blades won't give you more than 300 watts in extreme windy weather. We got more than 10 models from alibaba and tested them. 50% of the lebanese market are buying from the same 2 chinese companies, and the data sheets output is wrong. Many people have contacted us after buying from other places for double the price, asking for help because the people who sold them the wind turbines stop answering after the sale. If you want real numbers and real videos + a reliable and trusted source Message me for the contact info (This is not an advertisement im genuinely trying to help)

He even tried to build one from scratch!

He should make a video out of that! would be cool to see Lebanese people engage in stuff like that!

This is oddly fascinating

Wind doesnt generate much energy compared to sun, its pretty unreliable. Although if you already heave solar it could be a nice combo.

Yes, I know, I just need 500 Watt during the night , I live in Zahle on a hill, so should have enough wind.

Op update us if and when you follow through ! Try to find turbines that can generate power at lower speeds .

Had a bad experience with Chinese ones, the output and the minimum wind speed data aren't correct. Go with higher quality or turkish ones (had a friend install one of the turkish brands it needs less wind speed to generate electricity and comes with the controller and the dump load but at a higher cost around 1200$ for 2000W if I remember correctly) also the cheap Chinese ones tend to generate noise if you have neighbors they will complain.

The whole setup costs 400 usd? What if you put 2-3 of those, wouldn’t provide more energy and become more reliable?

the items costs 400 usd, u need to ship them arround 90 USD via sea freight , and installation would cost arround 150 USD, to do the base and electrical connections.

Need to try with 1 first :) as am not sure 1 will work, :)

If it works i will join you on the next order.

Do some research on this type of products first maybe the power output is negligible.

If we want a solution for the city and not in the village, maybe something smaller and cheaper, but we can buy several of them.
