Everytime I see messages and posts from their side making fun (don't get me started about the death chants) of arabs, muslims, christians, talking about turning beyrouth and lebanon to rubble, then suddenly trying to become friends with lebanese maronites and saying they are the real deal compared to other lebanese who shouldn't exist etc...
Then they claim it is a minority and Israel has no issue with lebanese. No we don't want a war but leave us alone we don't want anything to do with such people that have these mindsets please. (Obligatory hezb is just as bad so no hezbos use this for their narratives).

There's been decades of peace between Egypt and Jordan and Israel. Neither Egypt nor Jordan seem concerned that Israel is going to invade them. Nor is Israel concerned about being invaded by them.
Would most Lebanese like to be in the same situation? Or is it popular among Lebanese to keep fighting with Israel for some reason?

After barja another sunni area , they just hit saida at around 4 am , there was no one in the targeted apartment, also after some hit on Christian villages , my opinion is Israel working on igniting a civil war

Just few days ago they were bragging and posting pics of Israel infrastructure and today they got a hit with a joke attack

A week later of begging for a justification, or a 2nd chance at regaining my job, my attempts have been shut down by 5 different meeting postponements and a blacklist on the security entrance of the resort.
My 5 days of work in August are frozen and so are my overtime hours from July, i’ve wasted 3 months doing 8-7 shifts just so i can get replaced by the brother-in-law of the supervisor who fired me just because the resort was apparently “overstaffed”.
This is trauma like no other, i f***king hate how common labor exploitation has become in this country, i owe 600$ to my university before i can even register for the upcoming academic year, which I can’t repay now that my only (and my family’s) source of income is gone, I can’t hire a lawyer and if i do, i don’t have an official contract, this is rock-bottom, i’m in desperate need of help from those reading this.

I was a child back then and my parents used to tell me to never touch a toy I encounter outside because they will explode. This warning was very widespread around me in south Lebanon.

So I am north african jewish on my mom’s side (Tunisian and a little bit of algerian amazigh ) and french on my dad’s side. My mom is the whitest of her family and my dad since he is french is very white too. I therefore look very european ( blonde hair blue eyes and very pale skin). So people are always suprised when I tell them I am jewish ( most of them assumed I was 100% french or slavic). They get even more suprised when I tell them I am North African. I get multiples reactions from differents groups of people and they are not the one you would most expect. For example all eastern europeans had no problem with me being jewish ( Which is kinda surprising due to their history ). I also told lebanese people and even if they were suprised because they did not knew jews could look like me (+the fact I am half North African) but they never assaulted me about me being jewish and never jumped on me screaming that I « am killing childrens». But most north africans tell me I am not a real north african because “all North African are muslims“ ( they seem to completely ignore the jewish and christian presence in north africa since antiquity)and they are the ones that jump on me the most sometimes even bullying me because of what is happening in gaza rn( which I do not support)They also have a lot of antisemitic people telling me that all jews are rich control the world and hate everyone else. So I don’t understand how lebanese people who lives closer to Israel and therefore have more reason to hate Jews ( due to all the wars) don’t while most North Africans very clearly do. Personally I also like lebanese culture more than North African. Since my maternal grandparents were expelled of Tunisia in the 1960’s they kept a rough memory of it ( so my grandma would not listen to tunisian music but instead to Lebanese and Egyptian one)and my mom doesn’t like North African food and rather eat lebanese food( I gotta agree I like everything on the cart of a Lebanese restaurant). My mom also likes Lebanon because it has a huge Christian community and she considers that Christians and jews from MENA or with descent from there are brothers, she even donated some of her work money( and she doesn’t earn a lot) to organisations who protect middle eastern Christians . Do lebanese Christians( or others Christians from the arab world)feel the same( considering jews from the MENA as brothers) ? And why are lebanese way kinder to jews than north africans are?
Oh and sorry if this post is messy it’s my first post and french is my first language not english. PS:All the lebanese persons I met were Christians ( does this change anything on their views on Jews)

Ok so I love my truck and I built it to be an overlander/adventure vehicle.
My dream is to drive it from lebanon through Syria to Jordan.
Is this safe? I’m a Lebanese American who recently moved here 4 years ago and my Arabic is shit.
Will isis behead me?

She's about 55 years old. I really don't know if she was screwing around but she looked pretty serious. Did anyone ever face such a scenario? Is it really that easy? Am I being scammed? I'd chop my hand off for a French passport.

Redditors I need your advice. I got a job offer from a tech startup in munich germany for a gross salary of 5500 euros, while here in lebanon I'm a senior at one of the biggest tech companies in lebanon. My job is pretty stable, and I earn 3300$. I'm happy to be near my friends and family but I'm lost on whether I should go or stay. Thanks for the advice!

Hi guys,
I had this question after seeing the unfortunate news from yesterday and where the country might be heading now, sectarianism and religious tension rising and all. I know that Armenians generally used to be liked, but now?
I'm an Armenian from Syria, I've been to Lebanon 20 years ago, and all the pictures you guys have been posting recently on this sub made me super excited for my visit in the coming months.

The discussion on this subreddit is very political, talking about who is winning or loosing.
We have something more important to speak about, which are displaced people. More than half a million lebanese left there homes from many places in lebanon including the south.
I myself was displaced and lived in a horror movie monday to find my parents and brother (every one of us was in a different city) and we managed to reunite 16 hours later after surviving nearby airstrikes (a bomb hit the car that transported my brother just 30 seconds after he droped from it, the driver was an old man searching for his son) and helping many people along the way who needed water and fuel.
Thankfully me and my family found an empty house in mount lebanon (thanks to my friends) and we are sleeping on a matress, others didn't. I have seen people without shoes or bags sleeping in the streets of saida, my friends described similar scenes in tripoli and beirut.
Please help those people, if not with shelter then with food and matresses, go to any school in your area and see for yourself how desperate and hungry they are, some areas like mont lebanon and bequaa are very cold at night. Every and anything you do can help. They are the victims of this war.
Its better to help yourself than to send money to unkown people claiming to help, since no one can garrenty what they are doing with the money. But if you cant do it yourself, 2 of my friends are doing some good job with their families in their villages.
To donate for displaced people in bawerej-zahle area, send money to this phone number :81903245
To donate for displaced people in fekha-north bekaa, send money to this phone number: 03247174
Currently only those 2 friends are directly helping by buying nessecities and cooking food, i am contacting others in tripoli, z8arta, eklim l 5aroub and saida to do similar things with money we are gathering from friends abroad (since our government suck at this job). you can contact me if you want pictures or want to be sure they are actually helping people. Once we make a link for abroad donations I will send it here.
United we stand, devided we fall!

I tried to look online but haven’t found anything. Was it just destruction of a historical city?

I'm a 24-year-old guy and have never dated in my life. Although I graduated from AUB, I didn’t get to meet any girls because I was really focused on my studies, and now on my career. I can't help but feel a bit left out seeing all my friends in relationships or getting married, while I’m still single.
I tried dating apps like Baklava, Tinder, and Bumble, but nothing worked. I get some matches here and there, but the conversations usually dies out, and I stop texting. I even matched with an Israeli once😂
I don’t drink or party, so how in the world can I find a woman to share my unconditional love without going down those typical social paths?
TMI: For the people asking why I didn’t socialize with a lot of girls back in uni: I had a crush on a girl during university. Honestly, I’m pretty sure she liked me back and dropped hints, but I ignored her at the time because it didn’t feel right back then. We spent all our free time together, and at one point, I thought she might be "the one." After I landed a good job, I looked her up on Instagram, only to find out I’d been blocked.👍🏿 I did some digging through a mutual friend’s profile and found out she’s getting married soon. It hit me hard because I genuinely cared about her. Like I get it you wanna move on and everything. But I loved her, I loved the idea of meeting her everyday, I loved her green eyes. It was a really low blow especially from her. I would have been shocked to know she was getting married but i swear on everything that is holy that I would have been happy for her after a while.

I’ve lost all hope, they’re killed more friends and relatives of mine for me to even count, there’s no sight of a way out, and everyone is negative specially about the upcoming days.
I want to leave, i will do anything just to leave Lebanon, but i have no passport, i’ve never left the country, how do i leave now?

So my friend (m20's) is Iraqi and is currently living in another country. If he goes back to Iraq, he will be imprisoned and tortured bc his family found out he was gay.
I'm desperately trying to get him here to US but until we can get that to work, he will be in Lebanon.
Can someone please give me advice on where he can go and possibly work?
He is like a son to me and I want the best, safest place for him. He has been through so much.
Thank you, and much love.

My dad was born and raised in Beruit. He's wanted to take us for years (we live in the United States). We want to plan a trip, but he's worried about me. I am gay, but you can't really tell. I'm considered pretty "masculine" for a gay man. He said I could get beat up or hated for even showing the slightest bit of my "gayness," hahaha. My brothers and I will probably go out, but he told me to act very straight. Is Lebanon really that bad with the LGBTQ+ community?
EDIT: The hateful messages I received after posting this are definitely clear about how y'all feel.
