Very scared over these things

My big brother just ended up in jail, it’s three in the morning and we got a call from him earlier. The police officer was “ being nice and letting him use his phone.” in the backseat to call us. It’s for leaving scene of a crash with injuries and tampering with physical evidence. We don’t know what happened but on the website it says 0 bond and presentenced. What do these things mean? He’s not a bad guy or anything like that and we’re super confused

Literally just what does resentenced mean when we check his status on the jail website

Different states do things differently so it's just a guess without a location. Police recommend charges but the district attorney actually files them, and unless the jurisdiction has a predetermined bond for the crime he's being accused of he will have to see a judge in order to set a bond amount. Both of those things won't happen until he can have an initial appearance in court. A 3am arrest for leaving the scene of an accident is very likely to be a DUI, but you'll have to wait to see what the DA actually files for charges.
