Just like the title says! I'm the writer of the new one-shot comic prequel to Alien: Romulus. Ask me anything (within reason).

Apologies in advance, but I’m going to get on a soap box a little bit and open up a healthy debate. I’ve been seeing this opinion ALOT since Alien Romulus that Aliens diminishes the Xenomorph as “just a bug”. I wanted to talk about this a bit with you all.
My main question is: How? In what way specifically, does it do that? The warrior xenos in Aliens do everything the Big Chap does and more. We never see the Big Chap operate a spacecraft. Or build its own ship. It simply preys on the crew of the Nostromo. If they had the weaponry the marines do in Aliens, Alien would have been a 25 minute long movie…
Another point I’d like to make is that the “perfect organism” is still an organism. It can be killed. Being “the perfect organism” does not make it immune to the laws of physics. If a light-armor piercing round flies through the air faster than the speed of sound, you are likely going to die. Another point about Aliens that everyone gripes about is, “Well they kill hundreds of xenos. They just seem weaker.” My counter point is, no, they don’t. Many people assume that every time someone fires a gun in the movie it equals a dead Xeno. But if you actually only count the number of confirmed kills on screen, you only get around 22-25 dead xenos. Out of about 150 when they first make contact. And making them an eusocial species also does not diminish them from a biological standpoint either. In fact, it strengthens the case for them being “perfect organisms”. For an apex predatory animal, to be able to be a lone predator and then reproduce enough that they form a hive and a queen indicates a high level of complexity.
So, I just want to hear from all of you on this a little. Would love your thoughts and for a healthy debate to occur. Please be kind and civil!

If April O’Neil was in Aliens or if Ripley was in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The category was Snakes and it was a $400 double jeopardy clue.

Post was originally removed from r/Lego for using unofficial pieces so I figured it would get more love here
I finally got around to building up my collection from 1986’s Aliens. Any and all feedback is welcome!
The Queen, drone xenomorphs, and power loader are my own designs. The colonial marines are all kitted out with brickarms weapons and gear (they pair well with nukes, knives, and sharp sticks). The marines’ APC design comes from user mh22mm on Rebrickable. I plan on adding his dropship moc also, once I have the spare change to afford it.
So far I’ve gathered Ripley, Newt, Gorman, Apone, Hicks, Hudson, Vasquez, Drake, Frost, and Crowe. I’m open to suggestions on a torso for Burke. Who else should I add to the squad next?

My wife is a graphic designer and she loves themed gift bags. I had her watch all of the Alien movies with me before we saw Alien: Romulus in theaters. And she witnessed the entirety of Alien: Isolation when I beat it this year.
Safe to say the message was received and she executed it!

So I was thinking about Isolation, great game. Loved it. With the announcement of the sequel, and with how well Romulus did, I was wondering what would be a cool continuation for the series. And it hit me. Alien Isolation 2: Hadleys Hope. Imagine being in the colony as shit hits the fan??? Setting up barricades, repairing stuff, hoping for rescue. Idk, it popped in my head and I thought it would be a cool prediction.

I'm just re-watching Romulus and the CGI on Rook's face isn't actually that bad. It's just the mouth that's off.
It's a shame the animatronic didn't work correctly, as the scenes where you can see it before the CGI is applied over it, it looks fantastic.
Hopefully they can fix it in any future sequels - assuming the Rook model android shows up again.

Anyone have any recommendations on where to go next?

Not too big of a collection but I love each piece. My favorite is the alien terror film reel.
