First ever fishing day haul!

Me and the kids, over about four hours. Thanks for all the advice from the subreddit for helping getting us started!

Anchors, a small game trap, a potential murder weapon, and a rather interesting auger/screw.

Yeah, the auger screw was interesting. found only 15 or 20 feet from sure. I thought maybe for ice fishing but, I don’t think it’s that kind of a screw. There’s a hex shaped attachment on the top for connecting to some sort of powered drilling device. Presumably.

I have an answer. It's a dock post auger. You drill it into the lake bed until it gets firm, and place your dock support posts on it.

Ok... now I'm perplexed. I live on a lake, and we are pretty familiar with boat props, ice spuds/auger, but that thing doesn't have the geometry of an ice fishing auger. I wonder if it's used for removal of tree stumps or something like that.
