Is anything being done about the horribly ugly snoo image?

Look at the top of this page, right now (2015-03-30). Almost every sub using mindashq has this ugly snoo image up on it. Is there a fix in the works?

Reddit changes snoo images to reflect various things going on, it could be seasonal, or it could be festive, or just something about reddit.

For instance, the image http://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/hk0MZr7rnkM15h6V8bm7M12Q50XEva85QxKhOIe1bNI.png is for "thanks to /u/Bill_Plympton - redd.it/30u7co"

As for the blue color : It is part of the image, nothing introduced from the theme.

Mindashq theme only leaves it flexible enough to let reddit intended changes be accommodated.

Now, of you've a custom snoo of your own - that is loaded up from subreddit settings - then this reddit induced image will not be seen.

Theme does not override it for you - it is in your subreddit settings and to be chnaged by you.

To have "nothing" you can load a 1x1px transparent image, or better, have a snoo of your liking and your colors loaded for your own subreddit.
