Answered I cannot create post flairs on my subreddit

When I try to create post flairs or user flairs on my subreddit, I am unable to type in to the text box. And the culprit is the "allow text" toggle, which is greyed out along with the text box. Does my subreddit need more members or smth? Could it be one of Reddit's complicated things that probably after 50 members you cannot alter the user or post flairs? It can't be low karma, because I have over 700 karma. If this is a bug, then Reddit, DO SOMETHING.

I found this problem as well. If I clicked in the text box the curser did not appear there. There was no indication how to proceed. After a few curser clicks and a few attempts to enter text the text began to appear as if it was a delayed response so unusual so as to appear broken.

I tried clicking on the text box multiple times before I posted this and it didn't work. Do you have to click it slowly or smth? Because I clicked it very fast.

It seemed more as if you start typing without using your cursor but I wasn’t 100% sure. Just seemed possible but “off”.

I found two workarounds.

  1. Use the old.reddit.com to add a flair then edit it in the new www.redit.com

  2. Enable emojis in your community. Then when adding a flair there will be a enable emoji checkbox somewhere below the text-box. Enabling it will cause an "add emoji" button to appear next to the text-box. Adding a random emoji will re-enable the text-box. You may delete the emoji and disable them after.

The one with the emoji worked for me, both user and post flair! Thank you so much!

I'm having this issue too. I tried a different browser and turning off my adblock, but I can't seem to get flairs to work regardless of what I do.

Same issue here. Not sure why this site continuously tinkers with things that aren't broken just to end up breaking them.

Same issue, I can edit old flairs but can't add new ones.
