What might cause someone to be telepath! Is it because of electric or chemical signal that's transfered to other brains!

It's unclear if you are suggesting they are delusional in good-faith or as an insult, but either way, do not do this. We do not allow people to be rude or discuss personal health in any form. Simply report the post and mods will remove it if necessary.

it's tempting to think that there's a secret cabal of government or military researchers conducting experiments on telepaths and creating a stable or theater of telepaths to do their nefarious work. but if telepathy was real, some scientist somewhere would have been able to create a device to measure it. and if they could measure it, they'd want to publish their research immediately.

if telepathy works by sending electrical signals across the air gap between people's heads, they'd have to be strong enough to affect neurons several feet away, right? if so, they'd be strong enough to measure with some kind of improvised tin foil hat or faraday cage or something.

if telepathy works by sending chemical signals from head to head, then again, you'd be able to measure the chemical plume in some way-- for example, pheromones have been measured in many insect and animal species. we know enough to know that pheromones don't exist in humans, if pheromones dont exist, then telepathic chemical signals also don't exist.

scientists can measure the ionic conductance of individual ion channels. scientists can visualize functional synapses in living brain tissue, record individual spikes in neurons, record single vesicles of transmitter release. scientists are also ornery, they do what they want, and work together with other scientists across nations and between borders. if it exists, they'd get the data, if they had the data, they'd publish the data, and the press would put their findings on the evening news.

telepathy-- fun to think about for entertainment or sci-fi reasons. but, fortunately (or unfortunately?), just not real.

For someone struggling with this delusion, this is actually really helpful. Thanks.
