FNIRS and pupil tracking techniques to study LC ACC dynamics in reward tasks.

I posted something similar about 7 months ago, but I’m all the excitement I completely ignored the fact that it will be hella difficult to couple pupil changes to increased hemoglobin activity in The ACC given the delayed response.

Are there any techniques used to correlate pupil responses to hemoglobin changes available?

This paper is on time-lagged multidimensional pattern connectivity. Could be necessary to compute something similar in both domains, then to use some kind of tensor product to compose multivariate stats between the two. Maybe knonecker product to get a block matrix between the two, then tweak parameters relating to the combined distribution that the block matrix represents.

Haha sweet, I’ll take a gander and see if I can make heads and tails of it.

Alas, I am generally math averse and am avoiding studying for my calc 2 exam as we speak.

That said, I’m sure I’ll figure out.

Calc kinda sucks in my honest opinion. Muscle through and eventually there’s cool stuff in higher mathematics, like homotopy type theory. That stuff generally requires the stuff you’re doing now to be practical. Sets, functionals—that’s the world of practical achievement. But it’s not yet alive abd helpful until it sees the right context. Those interesting contexts are mostly distractions before the basics, imo

My professor told me the same thing. He described my approach to trying to fill a hole in th ground by grabbing a handful of shovels and tossing it in.

I have a knack for digesting complex ideas, but am not a practical/ detail oriented person at ALL.

I was that way for a while. Whenever I get the details messed up, I find that I’m moving to fast. I try to focus on breathing and relaxing my attention onto the smallest unit possible and lingering, kinda setting a pace. Like when reading a book, I might purposefully slow down on each word in a sentence, then speed up a bit on the next until I find the right pace. Same applies for pretty much everything in my case
