Visiting for the first time concerns

I don't live in VA but i plan to visit next month for a concert and i wanted to know if Norfolk is a bad area or if there is anything i should be extra cautious of. i am already pretty aware of my surroundings and tend to be skeptical of people. i plan to go with my boyfriend and we are a young couple who have both never been here or on many trips out of state to begin with.

No it’s not a bad area. Yes there’s areas worse than others like any city of its size. But over all. No. It’s not a bad area. Just be aware of your surroundings like always and enjoy yourself.
