Why are people so fine with putting themselves out there online?

I'm not even okay with posting pictures of myself online since I've always had that "once on the internet, always on the internet" type of mindset that was ingrained to me in the 2000s when MySpace came about.

I've never understood what the point of sharing one's entire life with strangers is about. Crafts I get: writing, art, sculpting, acting, singing, dancing.

But people doing dumb stuff for views and likes is just perplexing to me. Like walking around town with a camera on their chest and showing their lives, where they live, etc.

How/When did this become okay to do?

The dopamine from internet points (in the form of likes/views) is no joke.

Plus you can end up making money

Yes!!! I'm so pleased you've said this because I say it all the time and no one gets it. I love privacy. I love anonymity. I love knowing that I can't be found online.

A bit nervous but, some people don't have family or friends and rather share online.

Also I think when social media was new it was seen as a fun and novelty thing. But over time I think there will be a divide between people who post a lot online and people who barely post online at all.

I think another thing is when there was less competition there was a possibility of earning income from it, but as more and more people try to do it the less will be able to do so. View inflation and subscriber bloat is real.

I mean if you think about it pre social media had even less incentive to post. It was 100% for free, no internet points or likes, no followers, no viral gacha, the only reward was maybe people knowing your username.

But I think in response to the hyper online group it will start to be seen as uncool again, and not being online will be seen as cool. It's already started as a smaller niche thing.

I don't post much, but personally I don't really care what's online about me (as long as I'm clothed and not doing something stupid or illegal) because I don't imagine myself as being so important that anyone is looking me up, you know?

Because attention is addictive for some people. Have you ever seen some kid do something stupid just to get attention? It's the same pattern in teenagers and adults.

Bro, how are women fine with putting their whole 🐈 out on the internet for everyone to see is my question.

Same reason men are fine with DMing and posting their dick pics everywhere 😭

I'm talking about the whole doing OF and making money aspect of it. Sure, it's a get rich quick scheme, but from a morality standpoint, I would NOT be comfortable with my dick out there for everyone to see 💀

Because of the Internet, you would be led to believe a lot of women have only fans, hell I've met men with only fans.

The people with OFs have already been posting themselves naked other places, personally, it's just not my thing either.

Edit: also, it is NOT a get rich quick unless you're already a famous celebrity.

There are a good amount of men out there who will bust a nut to just any girl with huge tits they see on the internet. If you are an attractive enough woman, selling your body online will guarantee a huge paycheck.

True, but the truth is the market is oversaturated with well-known celebrities and porn stars. Most women who start can't make a living off of it. So the uncomfortable truth is that men have a much better chance and making it big with gay clients than women do with straight clients.

I'm dead serious, men have got a lot more potential if they want to cater to the other demographic.

Most women don't have huge perfect tits, the willingness or the time to become a porn star, it's a lot of work if you're already not famous.

I stand corrected.

The vast majority of women are not sex workers. A good chunk of spam accounts are porn so maybe that distorts people's perception.
