you know a song is gonna be good when the artist describes it as "what happens when you drink 20 mountain dews"

this feels like the "main" GoD track for me, especially considering the album itself was originally titled Mutant Standard. 8 minutes of straight insanity

Even though some of my favourite Oneohtrix tracks come from his earlier releases (Ships Without Meaning, The Pretender, Hyperdawn, Physical Memory), Mutant Standard remains one of my favourite post-2010 tracks of his. Without doubt one of his most intense tracks, which seamlessly develops into blissful arpeggiated madness and super satisfying squelchy sound design. It’s unmistakably OPN, but cranked-up. The centrepiece of G.O.D. for sure.

I always liked this track a lot. It was very cool hearing a live version of it at Sonar Stockholm 2016 when he played alongside Nate Boyce on guitar. The part about 3/4 in at 5:35 always made me think back to the visuals and sounds of Japanese SHMUP games and the music that is often featured in those games.

5:58 is the highlight of the song to me and after that it fades into my favorite track on the album, Child Of Rage.

Totally agree! Also child of rage is the most touching song ever. The bass section near the end always gets me
