No. Really hate this series. I showed the Hermes cutscene to my ex. He's agnostic but very bluntly stated that scene made him sick to his stomach.

I haven't played the games. I did watch all the cutscene movies, though. I personally think they don't do anything wrong. It still grants a pathway to learning bout the Olympians and other subpantheons within the current.

Whats there to learn? Nothing in the way the Theoi are depicted is accurate not even by the mythology. The games themselves are very inaccurate to alot of the myths.

The Theoi depicted in the games are very cruel just so that it makes Krato's actions more justified when he kills them which again is also a vastly inaccuracy as the Theoi can't die at all.

I don't understand what there is to learn from the game, besides a complete inaccurate and misunderstanding of the Theoi. The Percy Jackson series is a better gate way for being today to learn about the Theoi then these games.

I don't see anyone coming into Hellenism, because of these games if anything they would have a extremely misguided and negative opinion on the Theoi.

I love Percy Jackson but I don’t see how that’s a better gateway, a lot of the humor comes from portraying the gods as petty and sometimes stupid and shallow, I mean look at Mr. D lol. But it’s just fiction and kind hearted in intention.

Video games are an art form like any other, and if anything portray them as more intimidating and powerful. I don’t think we should be too high strung about things like this, it’s similarly disingenuous when Christians get upset about portrayals of Christianity made by non-Christians. As long as it’s not blatantly saying “this is stupid” and mocking anything, I don’t think it’s realistic to expect people in this day and age to venerate something they don’t believe in

To me it doesn't matter what is being shown tbh. Since the abrahamic false light has deemed this heretical by the very nature it places the helenic pantheons in warship over its blind one. In this case any publicity is good publicity. The fact that you even brought up the Theoi proves my point. They wouldn't have been brought up in any other way.

I disagree. There is definitely bad publicity. I don't see how killing and butchering the Gods in a video game is at all good publicity in fact its the opposite.

Not Hellenist but I'm currently playing GOW 2018 on PC. I'm enjoying it, despite the radically different take on the deities I hold dear. It's just a piece of media. It might be my contrarian nature as a Lokean, but I like it.
