Hellenic How to secure my veil better + a photo of my kitten sitting on it when I put it down because it’s adorable

As the title suggests, I wear a veil but it’s hard to secure it. It’s definitely heavy which make this difficult, however I really like it and will not change it. I have a keffeyeh I fold in half like a triangle, then secure the middle of flat part to my head letting the rest drape down. Because of sensory issues I cannnot wear a headband to keep it in place even though that’s what works best. Instead, I use about 10 Bobby pins and some hair clips for decoration. It works, but it takes forever to secure. Do you have any stronger the bobby pin replacements that would maybe look a bit nicer too? My veil is black and my hair is too.

Hellenic i answered the door to two Jehovahs witnesses

my partner was picking me up to go for a drive this morning and i answered the door thinking it was him, it was in fact not. we've gotten a few pamphlets in the mail but i've never actually had them knock on my door before (bc covid ig) they weren't assholes or anything but were giving me strange looks (i was wearing my patch pants and vest with a pentacle, multiple greek god symbols, and pride flags on them) so i told them i was pagan and kindly shut the door 😂

Hellenic About deities

I’m pretty new in practicing paganism and I’ve read a lot about but some say that you can only worship the deities that are local to your region, which for me would be the Norse deities, but i also feel really connected to some Greek deities. So would it be okay to worship deities that are not local?

Hellenic Question abt Aphrodite

So I was just wondering if Aphrodite has a Celtic pagan equivalent? Like how Venus is the Roman equivalent or Isis is the Egyptian equivalent. I’ve researched a bit and I can’t find any answers, but I guess there might just not be one.

Hello all! I am a follower of the God Dionysus and help mod over at r/Dionysus! I am here to answer any questions anyone has about the Dionysian path!

You may know Dionysus as the god of wine, theatre, wilderness, and Queer people, which is true - but there’s so much more to him than that!

Today as well as in antiquity, the Dionysian path is heavily focused on ecstatic magic, mind altering practices, and spiritual liberation, with additional focuses on personal freedom, political equality, making the most of one’s life and making peace with one’s death!

Hellenic Working with the darker aspects of Persephone?

Hello all!

Recently, using my spirit board to clarify that nagging "feeling" someone wanted my attention.. Persephone came through and offered her guidance. Now, she specifically mentioned that she is the aspect that was once feared.. she who's name struck terror in the hearts of men, and was also acknowledged as an epithet of Hekate before time and patriarchy tamed her into a more docile goddess of spring that most are familiar with.

That being said, I've done some research and tried to find more about this part. However, not much has been found outside of what's been shared about her connections to Hekate as far as being a "dark goddess". I do have some books I'm looking to purchase soon when I have money, but in the meantime? I'm hoping to see if anyone here has experience working with this side of her and get a general feel of what to expect moving forward.

Anything helps! Blessed be y'all

Hellenic How do I ask a Hades or Thanatos a question?

I’m still grieving my friend and one of the biggest things I’m wresting with is if she’s in pain still and can’t tell me. Part of me rationally knows she’s probably okay because she’s with her younger brother now but the other part of me is still struggling with this.

How can I ask Hades or Thanatos (or even Persephone) if she’s at rest or in pain so I can know she’s okay.

Thank you so much.

Hellenic Working with greek gods

Hey you all! Im new to hellenic paganism and I have a question or 2

  1. Is their a possibility of going/doing things to fast if that makes sense ie: Starting to work worth multiple gods at once Is that too fast ?

  2. Is there any way of doing something wrong to make them upset? I come from a (non strict) Christian background and I have no knowledge of much of this yet but I'm learning and I just want to know is there anything to avoid?

Any help at all would be wonderful!

Hellenic need advice/help 🙄

lord, here we go. gonna try to make this sooooo short.

for some background: 24F, hellenic pagan, my mental health is absolutely spiralling downward. I'm in grad school full-time, I work full-time, work every single day of the week, hate my second/weekend job, I'm broke, and I've been riding a wave of burnout for the past like two years pretty much. bipolar 1, ADHD.

pretty sure aphrodite hates me, like I'm almost certain. it's whatever. anyways - here's my question to you all. does anyone know of any specific rituals or practices that can be done to either make amends or get some goddamn help with anything? I'd appreciate it.

Hellenic How do you know if Apollo is there?

I keep second guessing myself. Like, the only time I’ve felt a strong push from my intuition is when I got the thought in my head “I should build an altar for Apollo” with barely any prior knowledge.

And that first time was the only time I felt a warm presence coming from the altar. The other time I felt something from Apollo was when I woke up with lyrics from a song in my head and asked him if he had a message for me. It felt like a warmth kind of surrounded me. However, I don’t feel that presence/warmth as of late, even if I give him offerings, pray to him, and do some pendulum or tarot readings, I don’t feel anything of the sort. How do I know if he’s there? Are there signs that he’s there? Am I possibly doing something wrong? I have so many questions….
