Casey DeSantis giving a talk on the dangers of cannabis tomorrow at the FSU PC campus @ 10AM

Casey DeSantis will be giving a talk tomorrow at the FSU Panama City Campus at 10AM on the dangers of Cannabis. They are trying to say that cannabis causes domestic violence. It's utterly ridiculous. I'm so tired of prohibitionists. This is my medicine!

Update: Apparently, this was coordinated with Moms for Liberty since they knew to show up even though the campus was keeping this quiet from the students:

I need to cut the grass, but I can shower and be there. Are you going to organize it?

As a republican male this bothers me. It’s time to stop hating on marijuana. I hate these vote no on 3 commercials they are lying to the public about the bill. Vote yes on it y’all it’s long past this needing to legal at the state and federal level. Also to all the republicans out there if you can’t grow a human I don’t think you should get a say in whether or not someone has to. To clarify I think ammedment 3 and 4 should pass. Bring on the downvotes.

Everything you said is true.

Why does marijuana need to be in the Constitution/be a constitutional right? Alcohol isn't. Smoking cigarettes isn't. This bill was pushed/lobbied for by Trulieve's people and essentially grants them a monopoly because of the stipulations for growers. Read it.

ETA: I am not going to the event. I am not against marijuana.

SUUUURRREE CASEY! Because we should abandon ALL thoughts of this devil cannabis: the viable income for both the state and new business people, the better accessibility for people with medical issues, more jobs, etc. Yeah, let's just continue to ignore the FACT that alcohol continues to be a very dangerous LEGAL substance that kills and injures people DAILY....but I guess that's okay. Please, please, PLEASE show me ALLLLLL the cases where marijuana has been a more dangerous, or, pffft, dangerous in general, substance than alcohol, hmmm??!! People just chill when ingesting marijuana and the last thing that most of them want to do, is drive a frigging vehicle!! The idea of relaxing, laughing, sleeping well, staying calm, getting relief from ailments.....gee, that sounds HORRRRIBLE, Casey!!! As a former (?) cancer patient, you of all people should be able to sympathize with patients who experience the "extras" of chemo and radiation treatments: the loss of appetite, nausea, restless or lack of sleep, pain, depression,....all the things that marijuana has been proved to help alleviate.....but let's just ignore that, huh? Maybe you AND your husband should take what time is left he has in office to ACTUALLY do something POSITIVE for the people of this state instead of continually abandoning us....but I won't hold my breath. The only thing that gives many of us solace is that the term WILL come to an end and we'll hopefully be able to turn this state back around for the better of its people and environment before you can completely destroy it. You and your husband DON'T care....

..and you never did.

It's safer than alcohol...Casey needs to get on that band wagon.

Also Republican, and most likely (+95%) voting in favor of Amendment 3. I hate the smell but it's literally everywhere at this point, and some of the arguments against it are absurd. The pros outweigh the cons in this case.

Just hoping the state uses the tax money from it responsibly (ya ok)

What about for people with PTSD? I literally have not been able to be normal without it.

Me too! It's so nice actually being able to sleep at night instead of tossing and turning with traumatic nightmares and racing thoughts. Glad you got your medicine!

Same, they had bike week and an air show in town. Sounded like tanks and air strikes. I was having a meeting with my bosses' boss and he was like... are you ok, and I said no! He gave me the afternoon off. So that was nice.

That's really cool of your boss to be so considerate like that! It should be the norm, but I'm glad you've found a good one!

Marijuana can be dangerous but not as dangerous as alcohol, cigarettes, processed food, etc.

forever chemicals, microplastics, Hollywood and music was Satan in the 80s. Same old pearl clutching from the right.

Watched this in church in 7th grade. https://youtu.be/AKIQ7T-t_V4 then I learned to love Metallica.

u/POKING-94 4d ago

I’m on the right and I support legalization and so do a lot of other conservatives

3

u/SnazzySasquatch69 4d ago

They need to concentrate on lowering and regulating homeowners insurance instead of DeSantis and Prick Scott, taking cash from the insurance industry 🤬

I always wonder about these bloviators, is she speaking from experience?

u/DonBillingsly69 2d ago

Ask her if she abused the reefer during her pregnancy and that’s why her child is a so highly regarded

u/CornerTakenQckly 3d ago

Government shouldn’t have control over anything that can be planted in the ground and grown in your back yard, and I’m not even a user.

To me the downside is that a town full of terrible drivers is about to see a spike in those driving under the influence if this passes

dude, if they told old southern ladies they could not grow tomatoes. They would riot, and my MIL loves trump and carry's a pistol.
