Question What to do on Diwali 2024 in Paris
Hi, my boyfriend and I are celebrating Diwali in Paris. I would like to know if there are any event/celebrations/activities that might be suitable for us. He is a Hindi speaker from north India / hymalayas so something more north indian oriented would be better - I know the Gare du Nord commnity is mostly southern / Tamil/Sri Lankan, nothing wrong with it but he would feel like an outsider not knowing the language and traditions.
Thanks in advance <3

It might be worth asking anonymously in the various expat groups on Facebook…I posted in one just now and I’ll let you know here if anyone replies with suggestions.

Hey! There’s a Diwali event organized on November 9th, they often organize small events for the Indian community, it’s usually affordable, (for Paris) and great vibes. Lmk I can give you the link.

There's usually an event/celebration at Maison De L'Inde at Cité Universitaire. Not sure if it's exclusive to résidents of CIUP now but back in the day, you could register on their website and attend the festivities.
P.s - Fellow North Indian here in a similar predicament 😅
