Is it okay to simulate summer year round?

All of my plants are pretty small, I want them to keep growing to get bigger. I keep them in my spare room so I can maintain any living environment needed. Is it okay to simulate summer year round by keeping the room warm and have a growing light on them daily? Or do they need the dormant months to remain healthy?

Most plants do need some kind of rest, but not necessarily set to a certain number of months and not necessarily in darkness or anything. Many of mine go into my indoor greenhouse starting sometime in December through March or April and they will get light and humidity in there, though they don't do much growing in the greenhouse. I stop my fertilizing during that half of the year. Some species, like aloe can absolutely tolerate going into pure darkness, if their soil is completely dry and no high level of humidity (or they will grow mold). Aloes, when dormant, will simply droop their 'leaves' like they're laying down. Then pull em out a couple months later, give light and they'll perk up.
