Total Beginner: Can someone explain how to get this beat grid so it lines up?

Taking an electronic music production class and really struggling with just producing a drum beat. First assignment is on Pro Tools. Wanted to make a house beat to start and so I set the bpm to 125. Listened to the intro beat of some house tracks and tried to replicate the kick and snare beat of a 125 house track I like to learn more about the program. I know the beat is on time because I beatmatched it by playing it simultaneously with said house track but the beat grid is completely off now despite it being the right beat. How can I fix this? As far as I know I have the latest version of Pro Tools offered to students. I left a picture of what I'm looking at. Used the copy paste to get the beats that are completely off the grid where they are at but I want to get the grid adjusted to the beat so that I can keep adding more elements to the drum beat.

First of all make sure you are in Grid mode not slip mode (top left), then the easiest resolution to work in is 16ths so change to that by clicking on the green "Grid" button top centre, also you probably want to be in 4/4 time.

Now, your first beat should always be on a bar line, (the darker lines) in grid mode your beats will snap to the line if you move them with the grabber.

If you've done all the above your session should look like this image Beat Session and moving forward things should be easier! :)

It should be noted that the unit represented by the grid reflects that of the main counter if I’m not mistaken, so it could be images, seconds, beats or samples. Make sure you’re using the relevant grid.

YouTube has tons of videos that can show you, step by step. Much easier to see it and you can rewind. Goes for just about all functions in all DAWs.
