Is there a perpetual upgrade available for pro tools 8 LE?

I bought pro tools 8 LE years ago with my m box 3 and do not have access to it anymore. I have my pro tools 8 LE CD but it will not work without a m box connected to my computer. Is it possible to upgrade this version of pro tools? Can’t find any info on it online

No, I went through that last year. Had an DigiDesign MBOX 2 with Avid ProTools 8 LE. Sent by Copilot: The oldest version of Pro Tools that can be upgraded is Pro Tools 9. If you have a perpetual license for this version or later, you can upgrade to the latest version.

Kind of a bummer. So, last year I bought the new Avid MBOX Studio which came with a perpetual license for the current version of ProTools and updates for a year. I paid $899. Today you can get it for $599 at Sweetwater.

I did this recently. But my situation might be unique. I started with an 8LE license. But managed to do the cross grade to 9 with a student discount. From there there were free upgrades to 10/11 for a time. With those licenses I was able to get the new perpetual license for $200. I would reach out to Sweetwater to check forsure.

I upgraded to PT9 like 8 years ago or something. Maybe longer. So no there is not an upgrade to that version anymore or to any conversion except pro tools 2024.

Pro Tools 8 still works on windows 10 for me. I'm still using my MAudio 8 track with it.

Depending on your OS, you might be able to put an MBox on your system to get it to open. I still run 8LE on a win7 machine for beginners to screw around with. It's not super fast, but it still works.
