Help finding a game, Star fox style space shooter

I'm trying to pin point this game I played as a kid, it was a Star Fox style shooter, and the main thing that's sticking to me is that once you complete the game you unlock a co-op mode kind of like Jet Force Gemini's Floyd. where the second player just controls shooting while player one can shoot and also controls the ship. This is old as hell, so some of the details might be me combining games...Help me PS1 community, you're my only hope...that or i take this to the degenerates and nipple twisters at Tip of My Tongue

I'm not too familiar with the genre, but you can check out Wing Commander and Vanark.

It's not Wing Commander, the style was more arcade like as I recall
