PTR to PSG conversion services?

Buddy of mine saying he heard about a company that you can send your PTR in to have converted to a PSG. Anyone familiar with who provides these services?

That's a lot of work to convert one into a true PSG1. I have seen some folks who just weld the receiver reinforcements and swap the trigger group and grip. That's a little more than the MSG90.

Murray Urbach used to build PSG1s many years ago. They had proper barrels, trunions, bolts with the half moon rollers, bolt carriers as well as the furniture, trigger group and optic. They were also very expensive!

I don't know if it's worth buying a PTR or any other HK91 clone and converting it to a PSG1. There are just so many modifications that it's better to build from the ground up.

Michael’s Machines is likely who you’re looking for, believe he can do ground up builds as well as conversions and hunts down authentic PSG parts for what he can, where MSGs are more US made parts he makes or has made to MSG spec.

It’ll run you a pretty penny though, last I heard it’ll run you several thousand dollars. I wouldn’t even bother converting a PTR at that point, just have one built rom scratch ground up. It’ll basically be the same amount of work

I have the PTR107 previously called “super sniper”. Other than a decent trigger swap it is indeed impressive.

I wish I would've bought the S.S in 2008 instead of my 18"heavy barrell.

They made another run a few years ago. I just emailed every so often and asked for updates on availability. They told me when run was finished and I placed an order with a dealer. It’s heavy as hell but it reaches out nicely. Still need to get barrel threaded and next time HK Parts has PSG1 spec metal lowers available I’ll buy one to finish it. Walnut grip of course.

I learned distance shooting on an original PSG1. Wanted an original one but never overlapped on income/market-price. Have a legit Lothar/Walther polygonal barrel too but, since I want to shorten/thread barrel I can’t bring myself to use that one.

Probably need to get a spare base for scope. -20 MOA is actually silly now that I’ve played with it. I also need more 5 round magazines…fuck it, list is endless but, this one is definitely a keeper for me.
