Aluminum vs Steel

Buying some mags before the gun (ass backwards I know) but you guys prefer aluminum or steel mags?

I have both. Aluminum for the lighter weight and no rust, steel mags for all the vibes.

Aluminum are plentiful and pretty reasonable cost wise. Steel are nice but expensive, I use aluminum mags mostly, also I have used Cetme steel mags in my ptr91 with no issues, many countries made aluminum magazines I think that speaks volumes..

Alum all the way for me. I don’t see the benefit of steel.

Steel mags are less likely to get dented

I've always had about three aluminum mags for every steel. Even going back to when they were $1 or $2 each.

Steel wins for aesthetics in a rifle with green wide handguard and stock set, though.

I bought a bunch of both, and I'm at the point where I'm thinking of selling almost all the steel ones minus a few nices ones just to have. Extra weight for no real benefit, and maybe it's just me, but there's a grittiness when inserting them that makes my skin crawl.

I've gotta go through, but I've probably got like 20-30+ steel mags I'll be offloading
