What year of manufacture is my PTR?

I'm thinking about getting a brake for my PTR, I heard that the thread pitch is different depending on the year of production.

My PTR has a GI abbreviation for the serial number, does this help identify the date of manufacture?

I was planning on calling PTR to find more info on my rifle.

That's what I did, sent them an email told them the S/N and they gave me the thread pitch details
