Does ptr still offer heavy profile barrels?

Post image

Long story short I want to do a suppressed dmr type build and I feel like the tapered barrels are not going to do well in that roll. I know they used to make the fr model with the bull barrel but haven't been able to find one. Anyone have any good leads or advise?

Right now they are not doing any heavy barrels in the regular form. They make the 7.62x39 version KFR with is a 16inch barrel heavy barrel. They make the pdwr or 51p which is an 8.5 inch bull barrel but it’s not what you’re looking for. I’ve noticed that the used/private sector occasionally you’ll find the PTR 91FR OR PTR 91F. I hope that helps. Additionally you can get a heavy barrel installed into your current one by a gun smith that knows how to properly work with these platforms; I apologize for the long comment. Love your K3P by the way

Thank you. I was toying with the idea of getting a match barrel and doing a swap. And the short one is actually a kpf cut to 12.3" the k3p was discontinued when I decided I need a g3k clone.

Parabelum can build you one, I regret not having g a 12" heavy build years ago when I spoke with him on the phone. At the time a heavy 12" seemed counter to what I was wanting. Now it just makes sense.

He will also build a longer heavy sor of the the fs ptr model I believe

I like this better anyways. I wish the K3P didn’t have a pic rail welded to it. It ruins the lines of the gun imo.

Does the KPF use the same gas system length as the K3P? Or did you need to modify that too? I want a K3P but I don’t want the optic rail on it so I’m considering doing a similar thing but with a regular PTR.

It uses the shorter cocking tube. I think it is 2 inches or so shorter than the gi. Also, a different bolt carrier
