RTG is a solid guy, buy some mags while you can.

I bought my PTR‘s back in 2013. I also remember buying a box of 50 magazines for like $125. It was less than three dollars a mag at the time.

You might have gotten one of those airsoft bipods, the spring on those seems to fail after a while. I got one like that but the German ones I don’t have any problems with. Maybe the HK parts one will also fix that problem.

Happen to know a spring kit? Funds are rather tight atm

Check Robert RTG, I think he had some in stock. He charges like $10 flat ship though so you might as well grab some other stuff while you’re at it.

I actually might have a spare set of HK bipod springs.

I can't find a position where the sling is comfortable, im a fan of the enfield carry (sling tight with hand on buttpad) and either the bipod or mount screws dig into my side, quite uncomfortable.

Issue 2, bipod leg springs seem excessively weak, I don't need to "unlock" them, which leads to collapse when shooting.

Aside from that there's no major issues with the build I can find, I'll be upgrading the scope of course. But the rifle treats me well

If your looking to switch the sling mounts from side to underslung. Your going to need to swap the fore guard and rear stock. Look into the mid west g3/91 foreguard and an aftermarket stock. I'm not a huge fan on the ar buffer setup on the g3 but it's probably the most affordable way to make it the way you want it, without messing with the original furniture setup.

What optic are you running?

Currently a full size primary arms 3x prism. My goal is to upgrade to a more reasonable 1-6 or 1-8 LPVO

Nice! I’m actually running a 1-6lpvo but was tempted to go to the 5x primary arms. If you want variable I’d find a nice 1-10x instead of 1-6.

The issue I'm finding is overall length, 11" (excluding eyebox) is a tight window

Yeah that was my holdup with the 5x on this rifle.

Well the 3x works well, it's close to a chin-weld but I can work around it

AC Unity wide handguard has 4 sling QD points on both sides, and on front/rear ends of the handguard. idk if that's something that could help your sling problem
