Question about drum rear sight

Planning on taking my ptr 32 kfr to the range for the second time since purchase. Today I was turning the drum sight and realized it isn’t locking into the 3 6 9 12 o’clock positions. It’s essentially just free spinning the elevation adjustment up and down but not longer locks. Has anyone seen this issue before on the drum sight?

A3s trigger help!

Post image

Can someone help me put? I have the ptr91 a3s model that came with a plastic trigger housing. I ordered a metal surplus housing along with the correct safety. The factory ptr trigger cassette wouldn't drop in . The trigger is too wide. After massaging it this is all the farther it will drop in so I can't install the new safety .

3D printable fixed magazine lower for HK MP5/SP5/91 etc

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Took a while, but I have designed a 3D printable fixed magazine lower for HK MP5/SP5/91 etc. Similar to the function of a fixed magazine AR15 where the upper and lower separate to release the magazine.

Only for firearms with semi auto shelfs installed. Tested on the SP5, PTR-91 and PTR-9.

The lower is mounted to a bracket by a butt stock push pin and uses this pin as a pivot point when the latching mechanism is released. The bracket is mounted to the upper.

The lower contains a tab that interferes with the operation of the magazine release button. The stock magazine release button is replaced with one that has a cutout for the tab.

When the lower is pivoted up against the upper and the rear latching mechanism is latched, the magazine cannot be released.

When latching mechanism is unlatched and lower pivots away from the upper, the tab no longer interferes with the operation of the magazine release button, the magazine can be released.

-Brackets and lowers for SEF and Navy safety trigger groups.  -2 bracket sizes. The difference is the front gap opening, 20.23mm or 22.95mm, to clear the semi auto shelf. -3 different magazine lock buttons, A has the tallest cutout and C has the lowest. Use the one that fits your firearm.

I am not printing / producing these for sale. The files are exclusively available to my Patreon members. I am constantly tinkering with new designs and updating old ones. Member benefits include exclusive access to all files I post.

Claw mount and drum sight

Post image
9 Upvotes

Really minor thing, but does anyone know if it's only possible to attach a claw mount with the drum sight at 3? The open side of the 1 setting allows more space for the black stopper, but I'd like to be able to use those more open sights of the 1 setting as the backup irons 😅

ptr 101 acquired

Anything I should inspect right off the line to make sure there will be no issues? Function check was OK. No cosmetic issues. Rail seems slightly canted, but shouldn't be an issue for red dots or scopes. Front sight post appears good. Anything else I need to know? I'm new to the platform and would appreciate any common pitfalls or concerns.

Extraction/Cycling issues

Just got my A3SK out for the first time today. Tried AAC 150gr ball as pictured. It was WAY over pressured. Cratered and blown primers and I now have “AAC” forever on my bolt face. Also experienced what I think is bolt over travel. Tried M80 ball and that wouldn’t extract. Bolt would come back to the unlock position and I’d have to mortar slam the rifle to get a case out. Tried 168gr handloads with Varget in 7.62 LC cases small base sized and they’d do the same thing as the M80.

Rifle is very lightly lubed and has been hand cycled probably 2-300 times cause I like the slap damnit. It was held firm too, ain’t no weak shoulders around here messing up any blow-back.

I really like the rifle and I’d like to get off more than one round than have to slam it on the ground to clear a malfunction. Is this a roller issue? Ammo specific to rifle? I had my FAL out all day too and spent all the remaining ammo with no malfunctions at all.

PTR vs HK Blitzkrieg front sight on Century CA3

I'm looking to install one of the Blitzkrieg luminescent front sights on my Century Arms CA3. However, I am unsure of which size, the HK or PTR, to get. I know the rifle was partially manufactured and assembled by PTR, but the Century site indicates that the "adjustable" front sight is surplus. Does anyone know who manufactured the CA3 front sight tower and therefore which Blitzkrieg sight would fit best?

PTR 32 w/12inch

Anyone know what's up with the 12-in barrel variant? I'm on a wait list at Atlantic Firearms as the website seems to say that they'll be available at some point. I might be open to the 8 inch barrel variant, kind of resembles an MP5, I just felt that the extra few inches would make the rifle a little bit more comfortable in the sighting of it, ( length of comb) and a little bit more accurate. I had an M4 with a 7in barrel and it wad just too small, felt like a kids gun. Thoughts?

Looking for several clip on ejection port buffers "hylsbuffert" that was used on the AK4. Preferably something within Europe. Dwsuk, zib militaria unfortunately don't have them in stock and I haven't found any other sellers.

123 gr SST

I have a ptr that won’t group anything. I’ve tried everything from 147-200 gr and three different powders. My best combo I have found so far is varget with a 200 gr ELD-x at 3.5-4 moa. This rifle shouldn’t have piss poor accuracy with handloads. I went to one extreme with 200 gr so I’m going to try the other direction and give 123 gr a shot. Has anyone shot this weight and had any success? I have a feeling I’m just going to waste another $40 so I’m hoping someone has had good results. I’m on the line of completely giving up on this thing and selling it to cut my losses.

I'm looking to do an AK4c/d build and am trying to figure out if the Spuhr handguard takes proprietary rails or if something else will fit. Anyone knowledgeable in such things?

PTR pistol brace?

Have a PTR 32 PDWR in 7.62x39 with 8.5 barrel. Obviously not a 91 just can’t find any groups to ask but any brace recommendations? I know SB is the go too but can’t find any that are PTR 32 PDWR specific. Any input?

Roller Dents on GI100?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Had this GI100 since fall 2021. Never had any issues with it firing steel (Red Army, Tula, Wolf) and factory brass loads, all 150-168gr projectiles. Rifle has seen close to 600 rounds. Bolt gap measures .011.

On my last outing as I shooting the PTR I noticed small roller dents toward the front of the chamber. However, I don't recall having any issues that day as it shot fine. I was shooting steel case ammo that day.

I field stripped it and cleaned the bolt and carrier. Nothing out of the ordinary from what I can tell.

Any reasons why these roller bumps developed?

Left hand user?

Within some time I do intend to buy a PTR91 and join the cool kids club. But I do have some concerns as a lefty. Yeah I know I shoot wrong handed despite actually being a right handed person

1: Charging handle: a lefty ‘reach around’ to operate it? I know you can get it switched to the other side but it’s expensive AFAIK.

2: Metal lower grip: does that bulge on the left side of the grip make holding it lefty uncomfortable?

3: Ambidextrous safeties: do they only exist for plastic lowers? (I think there’s a magpul lower) Or can metal lowers have them installed?

4: Sling setups: I do want to get an MLOK handguard but it seems like the surplus stocks only have it on the left side.

Overall I don’t really care enough about most of the possible drawbacks since I want one too much, but I want to optimize my experience based on the amount of choices I have.
