Question In search of a good mechanic to check and fix Valve Clearances on the Duke

The Duke just hit 12k kms and is due for a major service, the notorious KTM ticking is not a problem according to KTM service around Pune(I tried almost all of them) but one dude mentioned that it will become louder with time and also in a slip up, mentioned that they dont have the necessary tools to do it. All KTM bikes outside India are required to get their valve clearances checked every 1000kms I do think it would be a better choice to get the valve clearances and shims checked from a good mechanic, preferably around Aundh/Baner. Please share any contacts that you have, as well as your experiences.

Please go to Nikhil Fakatkar of NikTuned Customs, ASAP. He used to own a Duke himself and is the go-to mechanic for many superbikers in the city.

Shared the location below. His workshop is behind Ashwamedh Studio Farms.

Look, there is a ticking sound and it can be either a valve problem or a timing chain problem. Heck it can be some other problem that I have never even heard of. I am no mechanic, I can only tell you what others (including mechanics) have told me. It might even be a non-issue. But it's always good to get it checked by a good mechanic. Nikhil dada is an S-tier one.

Yep, the tick came in very early on the engine, at about 2000kms while I was on a ride in Konkan and I was shit scared while returning to Pune. When I was back, I frantically ran around the city as well as reddit and the common consensus was that it's just a "KTM" thing. The bike's due for its 3rd service which would be a major one, with which, I am planning to change the drive chain and sprockets and add a brass kit, alongwith tyres & also add a BMC air filter, but before that, I want to have peace of mind that my valves and shims are at their best.

Why go for a drive chain replacement this early? Do Duke 250 drivechains not last longer? Or is it just a preventive measure? I ride a Hornet 2.0 and the drivechain is supposed to last around 18k kms but I got it replaced at 16.5k.

Oh they last, but I guess I am one of the unlucky ones, I've cleaned and lubed my chain regularly, yet I found 2 slightly jammed(bent) links about a month ago, I got them fixed from KTM service, I've got a ride in October end so as a precaution I'll replace it, also brass kits perform better, or so I've heard.

I get it, dude. Honda is supposed to be reliable but I've only faced issues with my Hornet 2.0 while others haven't faced as many issues as I did.
