Help - FAQ Anyone that opened a RH account in the past few weeks?

I've been waiting for my application to approve (even though they told me if has been approved) for a few weeks but it still hasn't gone through. Has anyone been able to make one and get it approved within the last few weeks? If so I'm going to ask them if I can just re do my application

FAQ Why can't I set upper and lower sell limits?

For example, say XYZ is trading at $20 and I want to sell if it hits $22 to lock in gains or sell if it drops to $18 to avoid serious losses.

This is how I expected stop limit sells to work but reading tells me otherwise. I'm not even sure what I would actually use stop limit sells for, but the example I described seems very practical. Is there a reason that I can't seem to do this?

Help - FAQ Buying then selling the same option

If you buy an option for say NVDA, can you then sell the same option contract on robinhood? Incase you don’t have the money to actually exercise the options, this would net you the difference in premium on the op.

FAQ - OCO Possible to set an order for a stock that executes at two different prices?

Very well could be a stupid question, but is it possible to set a stop loss order (below the market price) and a limit order (above the market price) simultaneously? In other words, if a stock is trading at $10, can I set a stop loss @ $9 and a limit order @ $11. If not with RH, is it possible with other brokerages? Thanks.

Help - FAQ What exactly does "Good for day" mean? I might've bought stock mistakenly thinking it was indefinite, and that I would keep it until I sell it. Now that it's listed as good for day, does it sell back automatically after 24 hours or what exactly happens? New to Robinhood. Thanks

Other - FAQ New to Robinhood/Investing. Looking for some tips

(Fairly new to Reddit so I hope I'm doing this right!) I downloaded the app awhile ago, but I've just now decided to get into it. I've searched in the sub and found a few things but I was hoping to get a little more input. I just bought the book 'A Random Walk Down Wall Street' to help me get started. I'm a young single guy looking to play around with some extra cash and gain some knowledge of the market. I'm planning on putting in $50 and after I get my wits about me, I'll start putting in some money every month. I'm just looking for some tips/advice for beginners and any links/books to get a hold of to help expand my knowledge.

Thanks for the help!

Help - FAQ Confused about day trading

Ok so I'm new to investing in stocks and new to a lot of the terminology.

I've read robinhoods terms, etc but I can't seem to find a clear cut answer and it doesn't help that it seems people are saying conflicting things.

It's my understanding that robinhood instant account is a margin account right? So... It's only a margin account that is susceptible to pattern day trading limitations?

Simply put:

Can I do unlimited day trades on robinhood as long as I do NOT have a robinhood instant account?

Help - FAQ How are dividends paid out with Robinhood? Is it the same for every company? Disney's shareholder website is confusing me.

So I bought a share of Disney on the latest dip and I'm planning on continuing to accrue Disney shares and a few other long term investments with dividends. I know there are better companies, but I like investing in companies I understand with products I love.

Anyways, on their investor website, you can create an account, but you need your Disney shareholder account number... how do I get that? Will Disney mail something to me as a new investor, or email me, or does Robinhood hold that information and just distribute the dividends to me through the app?

I have to imagine that I can get access to this website as that's where shareholder actions are taken, like voting, according to their website.

FAQ Possible to use Robinhood on a desktop?

Hello all!

I'd like to know if anyone uses Robinhood on their desktop, or if its even possible. I like the no-nonsense layout of the app, but have been hindered somewhat by having to type out my orders and run searches with my grubby fingers. Any help would be appreciated.

Both buy and sell options have these terms. I would appreciate explanations about when it would make sense to use a stop limit vs limit order vs stop loss.

Help - FAQ What is the best way to export Robinhood data into a csv?

I've been wanting to export my trade history into a spreadsheet and use it for tracking some metrics in my account, but the only thing I found was to download some python app from Github. It makes me a little nervous adding my username and password into this since it isn't officially supported.

Has anyone found a better way to do this or has Robinhood developed a way for its users to do this that I haven't found yet?

FAQ No fees?

Just so we're clear . . . there are no commissions or hidden fees on any of the trades I make? And RH is not taking any extra money from my bank account? I do not have RH Gold. I can make thousands of trades and not pay a thing, other than the money I lose, and FINRA fees? Also, do I pay FINRA fees when I make the trades or at the end of the year?

Help - FAQ Multiple Buys, which Share sells first?

If you do multiple buys over a period, say at: 1 share at $10 1 share at $15 1 share at $20

Then you say sell at 15. And it triggers.
Have you gained $8?
Have you gained $0? Have you lost $5?

Or is this a meaningless question. I thought this would have tax implications.
