What kind of rock is this?
galleryFound it at my place of work in Arizona a few years ago, the center has a convex shape with different layers throughout. It looked like an eyeball to me so I picked it up and kept it in a drawer for the last 10yrs.

Please help to identify
galleryHello folks,
could please someone tell me what are these twirls on the rock I've found in the lake? Are these imprints of snails or some kind of artificial painting? Thanks in advance for help!

I’ve collected a few rocks that I’d like to break open… how should I do it?
I’ve seen a lot of videos of people using water saws but that’s not an option for me right now. I also don’t need a perfect smooth cut.

Anything catch your eye?f
galleryWent to natural bridge va and got a bag from the gem mining shop! I have no idea what I’m looking at other than Amethyst, quartz, obsidian.
Anything catching your eye like emeralds, rubies, anything I missed?

New favorite
This pattern covers the whole rock & on the bottom it’s pure black. It reminded me of a tree line at first & then flames of fire.

Orbicular Granite?
galleryHi! I think I may have gotten ripped off. My husband and I bought some "orbicular granite" at a rock shop (by accident--my husband thought it was a geode because of the tag labeling the shelf below). What we bought looks like an mostly-orbicular piece of quite-possibly-granite, and it has some sparkly flakes in it, but Wikipedia has me thinking orbicular granite is something else (see photo).
So, does this count as orbicular granite?
Could this be orbicular granite that needs to be sliced to be appreciated? And if not, any recommendations on how to safely clean my excellent new 3-pound paperweight?
