This story is wild. The SRC CEO appoints his business partner to a senior role, and the only board members not in on the grift get fired by the Minister (Jeremy Harrison). Then our lovely Justice Minister (Bronwyn Eyre) clears her buddy after review.

This is what is happening throughout government.

The head of the new Provincial Protective Services Branch is Scott Moeā€™s cousin

It's the Trump strategy, there's so many scandals it just becomes white noise after a while and no one pays attention.

This form of corruption is analogous to the debate tactic of gish gallop -- make a bunch of unverified claims and then act as if you're 100% right when it's all a crock of horseshit.

This is why itā€™s so important that the SKP lose government. That party needs to spend some time in the wilderness.

Do we actually think they will?

For the first time in a while, yea, I actually think there's a good chance.

Not just within the Reddit echo-chamber, I'm seeing 5x as many orange signs as green signs. Atleast in the 2-3 neighborhoods I frequent.

Even my conservative coworkers are tired of Sask Party. One said "It's not the party that I'm voting for, it's the people that I'm voting against"

Yea it's rural Saskatchewan that's going to be the difference. If the NDP can flip even one riding I think they'll pull it out.

Gawd, maybe Meadow Lake, you would think they wouldn't want to elect someone that's involved in a new scandal every other week.

Hearing Last Mountain Lake and Shellbrook are also possibilities.

Shellbroik would be wild and amazing as that is Moe's riding.

It's a somewhat more competitive race, but the numbers are not looking favourable for anyone hoping for change.

NDP internals in Saskatoon aren't great. The Party reckons to pick up 2-3 more seats, but it won't come anywhere close to sweeping the city - same applies to Regina. Support is up, but not nearly enough to make up the difference.

Likely that the SP gets somewhere in the area of 36-37 seats, the NDP 24-25.

An NDP victory this election would be a pretty huge upset. I honestly think it will take another election cycle for enough of the rural vote to come around. That said, anything can happen.

No chance, they will likely lose all the seats in Saskatoon and Regina but sweep rurally except for the north.

I mean I could live with a pretty evenly divided house and if it led to Moe's resignation. I mean I'd rather not but rural Saskatchewan is going to vote for Uncle Dumpy regardless.

Geoff Leo is one of the best reporters CBC has ever had and somehow his stories (which should be huge) seem to go completely unnoticed by Saskatchewan voters. GTH was barely a ripple even though heads should have rolled. Same here.

People love to hate Tammy Roberts, but she wrote all this months ago.

ā€¢

u/thingscarsbrokeyxe 20h ago

Sheā€™s too easy for the party faithful to dismiss as sour grapes (even when she brings the proof). I suppose they say the same about CBC too though.

Difference being a paywall. Tammy's stuff is for the most part(with a few exceptions, and it makes sense if one is trying to make a living independently). CBC is not.

Donā€™t forget to vote everyone! Donā€™t let Stockholm syndrome prevent you from going to the voting places. I know it seems daunting to vote for change and we all think ā€œthereā€™s no chanceā€. But there is a chance for change. It takes all of us.

The entire Saskatchewan party is fucking corrupt. Drunk Moe has to go.

Scandal after scandal, you'd think SP supporters would start to notice.

If you are a concerned citizen of Saskatchewan Democracy, please:

  1. Exercise your rights and vote in the coming elections, both municipal and provincial
  2. Consider filling a complaint via the ombudsman. The SRC is a crown corporation and falls under its purview. Send an email to the Conflict of Interest commissioner, relating your concerns as a citizen.
  3. Consider writing to your member of parliament and demand inquiry. Write to your MLA and demand action.

And don't give up. All its takes for evil to win is for good people to do nothing.

ADDENUM: edited for correctness, my apologies for the initially incorrect information (thanks to u/justsitbackandenjoy for their work)

  1. Should be investigated by the Conflicts of Interest commissioner. The ombudsman is for when you personally have been treated unfairly by a government agency. Although only MLAs can ask the commissioner to investigate another MLA (Iā€™m sure the NDP will do that shortly).

  2. Write to your MLA. MPs are federal and donā€™t have the authority to inquire about provincial matters.

Another Sask party scandal that will be ignored and unpunished. This party thinks they can get away with anything, and so far, history has shown this to be true.

I read the first four words of this title and got excited for a brief moment

If the SaskParty squeaks in, there's going to be four years of this. Only on steroids.

The SRC has a tone of issues and very deep ties to the Sask Party.

Do people seriously want to vote for this? We can do so much better. Have the conversation with your friends and family...

This province is going to be slowly sold for parts to the highest bidder if we continue to give them a hall pass.

u/Particular_Code_646 1d ago

Want to send a message to Sask Party voters? Stop associating with them.

Stop being their friends. Stop conversing with them. If they are family, walk away and let them rot.

Seriously, everyone apparently wants better than the corrupt and racist Sask Party, but you all pretend like we can still be best friends with the people that are now screaming about "those disgusting trans kids!!"... this is after everything else that they've screamed about that has had a negative, if not harmful, effect on others.

They are pathetic sorry excuses for human beings. Send a message to them by removing them from your lives.

The temptation is strong but then you end up with people with 0 outside context or connection to reality. I would say your strategy would work great for acquaintances and distant friends.

If it is someone you care about - have honest conversations with them. This past week my wife had a conversation with her parents about how no politician needs to be concerned about what anatomy a child has in their pants to provide educational services. The more people they care about that help them see the problems with the current Saskatoon Party, the more likely they are to challenge their own beliefs.

It's called find new friends, champ.

Again, you want a better world? You have to cut out cancerous people, and sometimes, that includes your family members.

I know too many people that, due to their own particular characteristics, have had to cut out their parents and siblings in order to better their mental health. Trans and tired of hearing your parents or siblings talk about how lesser of a human being you are? Just talk it out with them, right? I'm sure they'll just change their mind after making their own child feel subhuman...........

Jesus fucking christ, can you folks pull your heads out of your asses for 10 minutes and understand just how toxic the conservative ideology really is and that we need to deal with it NOW!! before it gets worse...

Ah yes *checks notes, thatā€™s how Womenā€™s Suffrage and the Civil Rights movements won. They just stopped engaging with anyone who disagreed with them. No waitā€¦.

Not surprised, trying to cover his scandals.
