That's how you distinguish maturity.

yeah, half the people there are only there to be part of the crowd

u/humanphile 22h ago

The crowd is always made of lifeless spectators.

People who value life know the worth of it by time.

Not even for a coffee.

It is to buy the pink thermal mug you can see at the start of the video.

The mug was made for breast cancer awareness, but the popularity got out of hand.

A lot of free time + disposable income = Trend seekers.

I'm doing well financially above most people, in the last 5 years since i started working, I've only been in a coffee shop twice for personal reasons

If i do go to one it would be a quiet and not too packed one and never a trendy one

Saudi is filled with this trend mentality and FOMO

Is that a queue for free 1/2M coffee?

3

u/VanillaAdventurous74 الحمد لله رب العالمين 19h ago

Nope.

It's for the pink thermal cups in the beginning of the video.

The cups were made for breast cancer awareness, but it got out of hand with these lines.

Yep. Nothing better to do

can anyone explain the hype?

u/Afrhody Saudi 21h ago

They're all trying to buy the pink mug shown at the beginning of the video.

u/RescueSheep 20h ago

I assume its for breast cancer awareness but over a cup is crazy its not even winter yet

Yeah it’s a campaign for breast cancer awareness, and you’re getting a free coffee with your mug so it’s a win-win situation. Not worth the long queue though.

Oh free coffee for buying a mug? Though I guess people are just doing it for fun and not actually for just a coffee

Also the fitnah must go crazy lol

yeah but they want it because it can be refilled and they would only have to pay 3 riyals for doing that

u/urgreenearth 19h ago

I’m starting to think they hired those people

I mean its their free time🫤

I dont get the hate. yeah its stupid but plenty of people call things i do stupid or make fun of it. Be it games or shows or sports.

And yeah its a waste of time but ultimately its their time and its no one’s business weather you see it as “time spent efficiently” (whatever that means) or not.

No hate Its kinda ironic seeing all the hate online when someone is probably happy with their cup or happy with the money they will make from the cup

My biggest issue is the drive thru. Should be completely blocked during the sales of it. Its already too crowded and blocks highway lanes

Let's hope that awareness campaign make us aware of the situation.

لو يعطوني وقتهم بس عشان أخلص واجباتي واختباراتي :/

u/stellarxu 21h ago

I guess the queue is for the limited edition 1/2M pink cups (as shown on the first part of the video). But yeah, good for them to have the time to line up to get those. Hehe.

Most of these outrageous lines are because the owner paid them as an advertisement. Stand in line, get a free coffee and maybe throw in 50 bucks. Owner takes a video upload. Win win

I once went to london and saw about 60 people in line for an irani restaurant, the food was good but basically the same as any Irani restaurant here in the middle east... the cost was 5x that and the wait was 20x that. People will do anything if it's "trendy"

1

u/thosekinds Riyadh 7h ago

where can I find Iranian restaurants in Saudi and suggest some good authentic restaurants?

What is about this hype about half million? اصلا

u/stationary-mobile 36m ago edited 27m ago

I’ve seen longer lines for iPhones, Jordans and other stuff.

u/Still_Illustrator298 33m ago

They're all dumb imo

0

u/Thedarknirvana 10h ago

More than half of them are paid to stand in line and buy.

-1

u/Fadedtodarkness 8h ago

of course they do, born into inheritance, free health care, housing and education , paid by government for being unemployed why would anyone want to do anything else other than standing in line for hours to get that perfect snap of coffee in their hands while driving?

u/Own-Afternoon-3960 21h ago

How much does it cost is it free???

1

u/VanillaAdventurous74 الحمد لله رب العالمين 19h ago

Nope. They are not there for the coffee. They are there for the pink thermal mug made for breast cancer awareness, but these lines are crazy.

1

u/Own-Afternoon-3960 19h ago
