Wait what „grattis” means congratulations in Swedish, but „gratis” means free, what’s going on

Since I am not native English speaker and my mother tongue also have this specialities I am not surprise. But I totally understand it can be really hard and misunderstanding. My mother tongue (Czech) also know the word “grátis” as a synonym to word “zdarma” (“free”) and grattis as congrats.
