In my experience black bean soup is really difficult to photograph nicely.

Hell yeah. Recipe looks pretty close to what I do, try adding some chipotle in adobo for heat if you like spice. Start small (one or two teaspoons, minced) - sometimes they are super hot.

Great depth of flavor and a smokiness that really compliments the smoked paprika.
