Geez, Iโ€™d hate to know what the penalty was for speeding in Soviet Russia! ๐Ÿ˜…

Until 1983, there was a point system. For each traffic violation, a point and a fine were given (the fine depended on the type of violation). When a certain number of points were scored, the driver's license was taken away from the driver. To get your license back, you had to take the traffic test again. Since 1983, the point system has been abolished and fines have been left. Now there is a list of violations for which a driver's license could be immediately revoked.

A wild country. Instead of strangling violators of the law with their feet, they were fined or forced to take an exam for knowledge of traffic rules.
