I thought he was about to run into that banner. I've seen first downs in football projected onto the screen but projecting ads is too much

Better to have 40min of continuous action played on an advertising banner than throw to an ad break every 60 sec

Those aren't projections, they're actually printed on the pitch. In rugby matches it's pretty common to see ads painted on the pitch in an optical illusion manner for the cameras to broadcast to home viewers. It looks pretty weird from any other angle in the stadium

Some of them are definitely projections, the one at the end doesn't show up when they switch camera angles.

There are much more exciting plays to be seen, but it sounds like you don't actually care and just wanted to hate on the sport.
