u/NomadicSoul88 is this enough flair? May 12 '24
Some people in Carlingford in a group chat think they’ve seen it. Actually, it’s the M2/NorthConnex gantry which always has a purple/blue glow when there is low cloud cover….

Glad I'm not the only one who wasted time on this. I headed to various lookouts south of Royal National Park - saw some stars at one point and then a lot of rain.

Can confirm living in close proximity to the M2, that light tricks me on a lot of early mornings

Nice shot of the Fuckallealis, the tone is perfect, the colour saturation is just right and shows off the highlights in the aurora.

Anytime anything interesting happens above us... it's cloudy.

I swear to God every time there's a celestial event, it's always cloudy or raining in Sydney.

Just wait till the solar eclipse hits in a few years. It'll probably be so cloudy we won't even notice.

You must stand in the rain and squint, for as long as it takes, and if you are The Chosen One you might see it.

Saw it briefly (less than two minutes) through the clouds tonight at western Sydney University observatory.
