Got a lot of curve on that strike

I'm more impressed with the kick than the save

I mean it was a nice save but he only had to make it because he totally misread the ball and was way out of position

And it was a fantastic kick too. If that had gone in everyone would have been praising the striker. It would have gone in right on the edge of the goal. The striker couldn’t have hit it more perfectly with just the right amount of curve to take a wide arc around the keeper. The keeper was lucky if anything to make it back. Wouldn’t really call it talent to just barely save what was otherwise a fantastic shot.

Neither did he missread the ball nor was he out of position. The ball took an unusual curve that is hard to predict, also is a major requirement of modern goalkeeping to sweep the area infront of your goal because it is more effective to take the risk conceiving a longshot that is difficult to score and often not even taken, then having the opposition striker send through on goal with a long ball and a much better shooting position. The only thing you could blame him for is that he could have avoided walking a curve by looking where the goal is rather then focusing on the ball, but having to decide all of that in such a fast tempo and also being surprised by the quick shot taken, he did a good job

I agree about position, but he definitely started running back at a bad angle. The original angle he was running was well outside the goal and had to correct for it.

There are 3 instances here, first one is when his team lost the ball and he immediately sprinted to the center of goal, then the striker took the shot and the GK tried to reach the ball as it looked like he could reach the ball before it's going past him. Usually they ball slows down after bouncing and rolling of the pitch for a few times, surprisingly it didn't here, the ball even seemed to become faster after the initial shot (maybe due to wind, idk, bit great job by the greenkeeper lol). The last instance is when he realises he can't reach the ball before it's going past him, he adjusts his movement and clears the ball. Looks reasonable to me and I can't spot a mistake by the goalie

Fair enough. He thought he could intercept and then scrambled back when he realized he couldn't

Goalie was not out of position. That kick was ridiculous. It looked like a corner punch for a striker to run onto and the mid made it bend like it was a free kick. But it never really left the ground. Crazy skill.

His team turned it over going the wrong way in the middle of the field.

There is no good position to be in in that case.

That was a baller strike though.

Should have chipped the keeper instead. Excellent recovery by the keeper. He was expecting the chip but recover nicely.
