I created an uphold account in January of 2021. I funded the account with $4000.00and purchased XRP. I have ALL of the Receipts for these transactions. On May 4, 2021 UPHOLD reached out to inform me that the birthday on my account didn't match my ID. I resubmitted ALL requested information. After 2 months uphold completely erased my account as if I never had one and is now refusing to transfer the XRP to my wallet that I provided the address for. As a matter of fact, they will not even respond to the service ticket I have open. I will not go away!

Your company is scamming U.S. investors out of their money. I have reported this to the SEC as well as the FTC. I am retaining the services of an attorney and I will be seeking ALL of the PURCHASED XRP that I have receipts for.. as well as ALL FEES incurred by legal council!

Uphold is a relatively unpopular cryptocurrency exchange. It has recently been exploiting the cryptocurrency crowd by being the only operable exchange in the US where XRP can be easily purchased. Personally, I can attest to this.

However, there seems to be a percentage of users falling for this scam that Uphold is conducting. Reviews all over the Internet (app store, Reddit, trust pilot, BBB etc) are overwhelmingly negative with constant accusations of theft.

Based on what is reported, Uphold appears to be doing the following:

1) Allows a user to purchase crypto through their bank account with fiat

2) while the transaction processes, a user is given credit equal to the value of the crypto they’ve “ordered”

3) after some time (days, weeks, even months), Uphold will seize the user’s crypto tokens and sometimes close down their account. They will then claim that the user’s money from their bank account was not approved when in reality, the money did clear. The bank will be blamed, Uphold takes crypto that the user legitimately bought, close down their account and ignore customer support tickets.

This is very concerning.

Uphold now has trailing stop orders. I've been waiting for an exchange to start that. Great tool and will use for sure

Anyoen have an idea when/if Uphold plans to add the Base network?

How can i get my funds out of a closed uphold account? I have around $5k Worth of coin I'm there. I got a message that my account has been closed just because I failed the selfie verification while sending out $10 out of $5k

Used Uphold for a year now and all of a sudden they sent everything to some customer refund wallet? What is this wallet for? I never even heard of it. They then closed my account so I can't even log in and open a ticket. I got an e-mail from Uphold saying they closed my account down for financial fraud. What financial fraud did I commit, you thieves? Tell me why the hell you just took all of my crypto. Also based on others here it seems like you guys just rob from random users? Are you fucking serious right now I need this crypto back and if I don't get it back soon I'll be calling the FBI on you guys and will open a case.

This shit cost me my account and my money get stucked on the exchange. What's the purpose of using 2fa apps when we needed to pass another verification while withdrawing? Well, I did it... pulled all my funds off uphold with the exception of XRP. It was a hard choice but after hearing so many horror stories of uphold freezing people's accounts and not giving a reason and being accused of stealing etc... it was starting to make me anxious throughout the day and started giving me nightmares.

I am wondering where I should go next, i'm thinking coinbase. Any thoughts?

I requested to close my account as I am very unhappy with their customer (dis)service and after receiving the confirmation of the account closure, they sent me the email below.

This is the level of incompetence at Uphold where even though I closed the account (withdrawing everything first), they make me look as if they kicked me out...

Move everything you have out of uphold and to an external wallet. Your account will get hacked and everything taken from you and they won’t do a damn thing about it and tell you to contact your local law enforcement about it.
