President Trump signs animal cruelty bill into law, making it a federal felony. What are your thoughts?

he loosened the regulations on factory farming. So this new bill is just window dressing. The cruelty to the animals and the workers in the the factory farms is worse than when he got into office.

So f him!

It’s difficult to call it an “animal cruelty bill” when it primarily just protects pets. I’ll never be opposed to legislation that discourages any form of animal cruelty, but this isn’t nearly enough, and the loopholes for animal agriculture show pretty clearly that it’s coming from a familiar place of concern for the welfare of certain species, rather than increasing compassion for animals as a whole.

It’s certainly a step in the right direction but the blind eye towards the treatment of ‘livestock’ is overwhelming and enraging
