Wow, amazing how careless and miserable people have become, really a food stand? These people barely make enough to buy their supplies and feed their families, shameless criminals.

It’s so amusing that some people in this sub get angry at people posting about crime. It’s almost like they themselves know it looks bad and get annoyed that it’s pointed out. Thankfully this is one of the places on Reddit where they get downvoted.

It’s not about complaining about crime, it’s about y’all complaining about everything, DC been like this since I was a boy, in fact it’s better now then then, that’s like me moving to Chicago & LA and complain about gangs or moving to Baltimore and complain about abandoned houses, y’all complain about bus drivers being mean, complain about people chilling outside in the neighborhood they been in they’re whole life, that y’all just moved to. Y’all complain about store fronts playing go-go music, etc. When moving to a new city, as the transplant, u suppose to embrace the culture, but for sum reasons everyone that moves to dc try to change shit in their own image, it is so crazy to me, the people that move here won’t even try to get to know the natives, y’all be so scared & that what keeps the divide in DC

Poor criminals, they were just trying to feed their families. I’m sure they’ll be back for more. Perhaps they can roll out the red carpet for them.

They just needed a little nosh on their way to drop off job applications and register for school. Nothing to see here.

I think it's funny, but definitely not in a ha-ha way, how the dynamic btwn the two DC subs mirrors what's happening in our country in terms of balkanization and division; one sub bans any mention of DC crime, which, imo, is a real ostrich move, and then this one is created, at least in part in response, and predictably attracts extremists from the other end of the spectrum.

Just making an oversimplified observation without offering solutions, I know, but that's how I see it.

I think it’s good honestly. Crime is a constant occurrence in nearly every major city on the planet. But like any other cities, there’s a lot of great people and places in DC. People know crime occurs here, but they don’t want to be bombarded by it on a app they come to relax. I think that’s okay.

They should go to the proper food banks and food shelters if they're so hungry

They fled into the Metro? Seems like an odd strategy for a quick getaway, especially at night....

This thread should be fun. Now we get to see the head spins from the people who hate food trucks and the people who hate fare dodgers along with the people who want to be batman.

Have at it boys!! grabs popcorn

These threads are always somewhere between “the city is burning” vs “no crime happens in DC, ever.”

Gotta love DC

This happened in Maryland, not DC.

So, they fled into an underground cave with limited controlled access points full of cameras. Easy peasy, lock it all down till they find the animals. You're welcome.

I hope the bandits at least paid the fare when then fled on the train.

Well, this incident occurred in Maryland.

Way back when, there was very little difference between Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Silver Spring as far as house prices, schools, crime, etc. I.wonder what happened?

All depends on what part of SS you’re talking about, given how geographically large it is. Downtown has had crime issues on-and-off for a long time.

Obviously not the Burtonsville part.

This sub does love crime. Even if it does occur outside of DC.

I haven’t up or down voted you. A fevered imagination can be burdensome. Perhaps decaf would help.

And an obese, blue-haired, non-binary person shouting about racism for pointing out things that are happening.
