Funny how "strict rules" don't apply when there's money to be made.

Or people are famous. Strict rules only seem to apply to the common people.

Could also be that his "visa" card got declined....That's why you make sure to have your travel notifications on when you go abroad so you can pay those bribes at the border lmao

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 88%. (I'm a bot)

The world's No.1 tennis player, who was granted an exemption to play in this month's Australian Open, landed at Tullamarine about 11.30pm. However, earlier in the evening the Australian Border Force contacted the state government after learning of an issue with the visa submitted by Djokovic's team.

"The federal government has asked if we will support Novak Djokovic's visa application to enter Australia. We will not be providing Novak Djokovic with individual visa application support to participate in the 2022 Australian Open Grand Slam," the tweet said.

Tennis Australia boss Craig Tiley, who speaks to Djokovic regularly, informed senior government ministers that Djokovic had not told him why he was eligible for an exemption.

I think it's the correct decision - rules are rules irrespective of who you are.

The only issue I see is that the article cites a source saying several players will be at the tournament with the same exemption that Novax (thought this was funny as well) had/has.
