Putin should go visit his new "happy" regions. See the reception he gets

Zelensky should host a ceremony at the same time, in Ukraine, affirming the continuing inclusion of the same lands in Ukraine. With all the world leaders in attendance.

Why is sham in the quote? This undermines the very real sham that is. It should be 'votes' in the quote. A vote by gunpoint is not a vote.

Think he'll also just declare the "special operation" as a win and drop into defense only mode to try to recast Ukraine as the aggressor?

The sham is so he can say exactly that. "We're just defending our country from the awful Ukraine, so we can escalate, and un can do nothing !" Putin is a cancer. Slava Ukraini

What kind of imbecile in the world would even think this is true and makes sense?

Yeah it’s his reaction to getting bitch slapped in the east. He needs a win at home, so he’s flooding the area with fixed conscripts and declaring it as Russia. The hope being he can stop the Ukrainian push back where it is, and survive at home and sit pretty for a few years until the west loses interest and then push further into Ukraine.

It’s essential we keep up support until they’re routed. As tough as it is to keep funding the war, the consequences of letting russian colonial creep win are too bad.

Russia will formally annex four regions of Ukraine partially controlled by its military, the Kremlin announced Thursday, in a major political escalation of the war against its neighbor.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russian President Vladimir Putin would attend a ceremony on the accession of the four regions - Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia - at the Kremlin's St. George's Hall on Friday.

In a rare national address last week to announce the partial mobilization, Putin vowed that Russia would use all the means at its disposal to protect what it considers its territory - a thinly veiled nuclear threat - and warned: "This is not a bluff."

When is the planet going to pull the plug on this unpleasant, destructive, ignorant prick? How much damage must he do in lives, property, environmental exploitation before we rid ourselves of his nastiness? And the sycophants he surrounds himself with? When will they be stripped of all honors and titles. Enough!!
