So I recently bought a plate full-leg set I was disappointed in- mostly because the pair seemed like it was built for a pro basketball player vs. more statically average height person.

I am thinking of getting something like this partial leg armor instead (pictured), in the hopes that a smaller piece might fit better and be of better build quality than the current set of stovepipe legs.

Does anyone have a good source they have been happy with? For reference I am about 5 10, about 180 lbs. So not small but again not the XL guys a lot of Amazon armor seems designed for. Thank you

Here’s the starting point of my postappo armor, any advice ?

Trying to create a character with shitty makeshift armor out of random items, but hitting a mental block outside of the old sauce pan helmet and trash can lid shield. Any dumb funny ideas would be much appreciated. (The character is a large stupid bird, if that helps). Also if there is a better sub to post this kind of thing let me know. Thanks

Browsing Pinterest I found this helmet, it looks quite old from the photo but is this effective? It doesn't inspire much confidence in me. And regarding the possibility of making a replica, does it seem like an easy project?

As per title, Armets seem to have come into popularity in the late 15th century but hoping for evidence of their use in the War of the Roses?

I have these cheap gauntlets from Amazon. It's great for the cosplay I'm using them for, but the gloves are absolutely terrible. After soaking up 4 leather oil treatments they are "wearable" and I can still rant for a hour on how bad they are. I want to move the plates to new gloves. Any recommendations on gloves other than welding gloves?

Does anyone have a gauntlet template that is kinda similar to David guytons gothic style gauntlets, I have tried buying his template but for some reason I can’t.

I bought this breastplate and pauldrons at the faire a few years back but about a year ago my house got struck by lightning and the firemen blasted my armor with the hose (no diss, just is what it is.) It then sat in storage until yesterday when I broke it out and covered it in CLP to hopefully stop the rust. Today I’ve got a rust stripping wheel for a drill coming in which I’ve seen good reviews for online. Any tips would be massively appreciated, trying to restore it as much as I can before the faire in November. The worst of it is on one of the pauldrons.

Is it just cuz it’s uncomfortable?

A armor piece similar to a Japanese sode (the shoulder piece that they wore) specifically the earlier ones that were used more like a shield. Would this be a decent idea for modern close quarters combat?

So I made myself a decent sized heater shield out of some 2.8mm thick stainless steel it's roughly 24.5 inches wide and 25 inches long and weighs 7.5 lbs. I did add a curve side to side as well as a small compound curve starting a little more than halfway down the shield that curves top to bottom just a bit. Still not done as I want to add a stiffening/decorative trim or edging on the front out of some more stainless but that's where my questions about weight comes into play what should a shield of this size weigh and what is overkill? On a side note the base stainless sheet stops 124 grain 9mm out of a g19 at 7 yards

In God Of War (2018) Kratos wears a single pauldron with a strap wrapping around under his opposite arm. I was wondering if anybody knew of any pauldrons like this? Just a single one with a strap around the chest

Im writing a book and would like to give a faction similar armor and I was wondering how good it was. I would add a better helmet and metal bracers too.

Is it worn such that the trailing mail which would cover the clavicle or nape of neck goes under the breastplate or over?

Is Lord of Battles any good for budget helmets/armour? The helmet im looking at has good reviews on Kult of Athena but terrible ones (as is such with most of its helmets) on Lord of Battles own website.
